Sirius jumped into the departing train just in time. He never was a precise person, and time was, according to him, just a thing muggles made up.

Sirius had always wished to live without time, because he never had enough. Before summer break, Sirius had wished for school to never stop, because for the first time in his life, he was truly happy. He could do what he liked most and met his brothers in crime, James, Peter and Remus. Speaking of which, they were supposed to wait for him in the third wagon. Sirius was in the seventh by now, already passed the Ravenclaws wagons, and he just needed to pass the wagons where the Slytherins were piled up. The Slytherin house was big this year, exceptionally big, but that didn't stop Sirius to recognise the face of Severus Snape. He smiled by the foresight of himself and James making his life miserable.

'Hey Severus, missed me?'

Severus didn't even raise his head, instead hiding himself behind his book. Sirius smacked his hand against the cover, making it hit Severus nose.

'I asked you something, now answer me.'

Severus sighed, probably because he had sworn to himself not to let those two boys bully him again this year.

'Not quite as much as your mom, may I say.'

Severus whispered through his teeth. The moment Severus had to enjoy his new confidence disappeared like snow in the sun when he saw Sirius eyes darken.

'What did you say, Snape?'

Severus tried to disappear in his chair while he saw Sirius' arm rising, his fist clenching. He averted his head slightly to soften the impact when suddenly a pale looking boy stood next to him.

'Sirius, stop it. Now.'

Sirius lowered his fist and pulled his friend into a hug.

'Remus, man, long time no see. How are you.'

'Better if you would leave Severus alone, you know I hate this.'

Sirius nodded and gave just one look to Severus, ensuring him he got the message. Normally, Sirius wasn't so quick-tempered. He wasn't a bad guy, not really, he just thought it was funny to see Snape squirming. Remus grabbed his wrist to pull him to the wagon where Peter and James were waiting for him, and a small spark of energy lingered through Sirius' arm. Stupid magic, whispered Remus when he let go of the arm and shoved his hands in his pockets. The boys made their way to wagon three of the Hogwarts Express. Sirius frowned when he noticed a big red scar on Remus' neck. He grabbed his arm and pulled him to stop. Again a flash of energy shot through his veins, but this time he didn't let go of Remus' arm.

'Wait Remus, what's about the scar in your neck?'

Remus stroked absentminded over the scar, his eyes closed, softly letting some air go. Sirius never noticed those kinds of details, maybe the rough summer had changed him.

'Nothing, got hit by a car, nothing big, only 36 stitches. It's kind of badass, don't you think?'

After saying that he turned around, pulling his collar up. Sirius smiled and nodded, but there was no way Sirius was believing that ridiculous story. He might not know Remus for a very long time, but long enough to tell he was lying. Remus clearly didn't want to talk about it, and Sirius wasn't the person to push him. Not now anyways, maybe when the scar fainted a little.

Remus continued the walk to where Peter and James were sitting, followed by Sirius. Once arrived Sirius immediately felt the arms of James around his neck. The arms of James felt different as Remus' arms, less like coming home, more like just meeting a friend again. Peter just gave him a nod, being the one who wasn't really into bodily contact. They always joked about him having a very big circle of personal space around him, even tensing when someone's accidently bumped into him in the crowded halls of the Hogwarts Castle. Sirius and Remus were seated next to each other while the train went further away from Sirius' old home, which didn't quite felt like a home, not anymore. The boys had some small talk about how the summer had treated them, but Sirius and Remus were suspiciously quiet, to the point even Peter had noticed. James tried to figure out why, on which Remus answered he still didn't felt great after his accident, and Sirius told them he was dumped. Both not telling the truth.
