Loved By Who?

Chapter 5

Once I got home from the coffee shop, I went to my office. I continued editing the videos I was working on. I still couldn't get Kayla off my mind. The image of her gorgeous blue eyes was stuck in my brain. I uploaded one of the videos after I finished and decided to text Kayla.

'I had lots of fun talking with you at the coffee shop. :),' I typed, then sent. She hadn't replied for a minute or two.

"Oh no, am I being annoying? Am I too clingy? Oh n-" I was interrupted by my phone making a loud DING! noise. 

'Same here! :) We have so much in common!' the text read, 'Hey, I was wondering if later this week or this weekend you'd like to have a Netflix marathon with me?' A couple seconds later a new text popped up, 'I don't care who's house, I just think it sounds really fun.'

I replied saying, 'DEFINITELY!! How about on Saturday this weekend? 3 o'clock? My place?'

DING! 'Sounds great!! I can't wait. <3' 

I didn't text her after that. I didn't want to seem desperate or anything. I happily got back to work, anticipating this Saturday, and fantasizing about what might happen.

That week went by incredibly slowly. Kayla and I had multiple conversations on the phone and over text message. I was extremely excited for today. At 3 o'clock Kayla would be here. It was 2:07. I had already prepared snacks, blankets, Netflix, and everything else we needed. I went to the bathroom and got into the shower. I sang some of my favorite love songs including, "Can't Help Falling in Love," by the One and Only Elvis Presley,  "Your Song," by Elton John, and a couple others. By the time I got out of the shower, it was 2:32. I got dressed in my pink v-neck shirt and a pair of jeans. I made sure everything was perfect and waited for Kayla's arrival.

I'm terrible at keeping promises about writing. Haha. But at least this is a longer chapter. I've been super-duper ultra-mega busy with school and everything else in life, but I'm back now, and I'll be working on another chapter after this one.
