The bright sun was high in the sky, beating down on the island. Early that morning, a plane full of people had went down, killing all adults. The only ones left were a group of young boys, who were scattered about, gorging themselves on fruit until their stomachs ached.
A thin blonde boy swam around in a warm tide pool while a shorter fat kid with glasses waded in slowly. They conversed for a while, getting to know little things about the other.
The blonde one's name turned out to be Ralph, and they talked some more. "I don't mind what they call me as long as they don't call me what they did in school."
"What's that?"
He looked around, making sure no one else was around. He leaned in closely whispering.
"They used to call me... Piggy."
They found a platform, covered in coarse grass and fallen palms. The trees that stood cast a green shadow over the land, and the pool glistened a deep royal blue. Down below, in the water, something was bobbing up and down. This peeked their curiosity, and they clamored down the small slope. A cream colored conch drifted closer, and Ralph reached out and scooped it from the water.
After having a small discussion about the shell, he blew, a low call rang through the air and resonated around the island.
Boys started coming from all around; from the beach, by the mountain, the forest. If there was a path, there was a child coming down from it.
Piggy tried taking call, but with the littluns running around everywhere, it was useless.
Down on the beach, on the horizon of a mirage there stood the blurry forms of a group of boys, walking in two neat rows. When they could finally make out their forms, they noticed that the leader was tall with ginger hair, and he walked with his chest bowed out wards.
The boy looked Ralph up and down, scrutinizing his appearance. He had an air of superiority around him, and he acted as such.
"Choir! Stand still!"
They obediently followed his orders as if they were a whipped pup. "My name is Merridew. Ja-"
"SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"Wha?" A large falcon cast a shadow over the island, blocking out the sun.
"SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
Suddenly, the giant bird swooped down, grabbing the red haired lad in its talons, and took to the skies. His screams pierced the quiet, followed by the cry of the king of the sky.
"SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

How It Should've Ended: The Lord of the Flies
FanfictionJust finished Lord of the Flies in English, & hated the ending. In general, this is how it SHOULD have ended. At least in my opinion. This is a joke, for those of you who can't tell by what's written in the fic. This is meant to be lighthearted and...
