I Faked It

chapter 1

"Uh huh. Sure." I was barely paying attention to what Maya was saying. We had a science project due tomorrow and I didn't even know what the project was about.
"Are you even listening?" Maya looked frustrated. I glared at her.
"Nope." I grinned the fakest grin and continued writing down stuff. I could wait for the bell to ring. This class sucked!
I dropped my binder on the floor as I sat down in my 4th period Math class. I slid a note under Alexia's binder hoping she would notice. She did. She quickly read it and looked up at me.
"You sure it will work?" She seemed doubtful. "It seems a little edgy. A lot of risks and things could go wrong." I rolled my eyes.
"And that's why we won't do anything wrong. Have we ever done our plans and failed?" I was right and she knew it. She passed the note onto Sam and Leila. They both agreed and we decided to meet at our hideout after school.

"God. It's been ages since I've been here." Leila stretched out on her old tarp hammock and fixed her nail polish. I laid out some blankets on the ground that Alexia had brought from home. "So, what's the plan again? I like spaced out after agreeing to meet here and totally don't remember." Leila had a tendency to forget things right after we told her them.
"Here. This is the plan." I handed her the Red Book and she flipped through the pages to our new plan. The Red Book was our squads plan book. We were not the nicest or trustworthiness people you would meet. We had our plans but they were probably different from your kinda plans. "So, agree?" She nodded and turned to our Lock Tree. That's a tree we hollowed out so we could hide supplies in there. You know, some knives, a couple nail guns, paper, that kinda thing.
"So Kassey, when are we ganna do this? " Alexia didn't seem as worried as she was earlier. I shrugged and sat down on a blanket. I tossed a bag of corn nuts to her and it hit her nose.
"Next Wednesday to Friday we have off, I say we hide out Wednesday night, strike thursday and cover the evidence after that. On Friday we will just hang out somewhere and spread the news." Everyone nodded and agreed.
"Hey!" I knew that voice. "You never told me we were having a meeting!" Cam leaned against the tree and tossed a bag of something to Alexia. "They are my moms pumpkin cookies. Thought you might want some." She hugged him and opened the bag. They were pretty close friends. Thought I don't think either of them have a crush on the other. They were friend even before the squad formed.
"That's because we didn't see you today dumbass." I hit his leg and he pretended to look hurt. All five of us sat there and talked for a while. I could tell our plan would go just as we wanted it to.
