"I haven't seen him in like a month. Stop pressing it Alex."
"C'mon, I'm sure you'll see him soon. You just haven't been at the library lately."
"Well tuition isn't going to pay for itself now will it?"
Alex gives a sigh of defeat and walks away to put away the stack of books. I start organizing the receipts for Tim, the boss. He is the sweet old grandfather I never had since he treats me like his own.
"Jack! Can you text your grandad that I'm done with the money and receipts?"
I hear a stumble and a box drop. With a string of curses following. Oh great.
"...Yea I'll do that soon. Right after I pick up these books."
I start cleaning up the counter when the door rings. Looking up to see Tim walk in with someone in tow. Someone familiar.
"Rye bread?"
"Library girl?"
I hear a snicker behind me from Alex. Probably due to my given nickname and the coincidence. To be honest, I was quite foudroyant with his presence.
