Embers P.O.V
"NO!" I kicked and screamed. The two strong boys carrying me held tight to my hands and ankles. I made contact with my foot and one of the boys faces. He grimaced in pain but never let go of my feet.Just minutes earlier, the dark skinned boy walked back into the room with two guys trailing behind him. He ordered them to take me to something called a pit.
I don't know what that means, but it doesn't sound promising.
I can't believe this. I didn't even do anything. I swear when I get out I'm gonna ki-
"Oomph.." I groaned as they dumped me into a dark room.
"Wait! No!" Despite my pleas, the door was slammed in my face and I heard footsteps and snickering as they tromped away, leaving me to rot.
I sighed and examined the room. There was barely any light shining through the small window that was built into the door. It contained nothing but a dirt floor and a rickety chair. One of the piece of furnitures legs was shorter than the others.
I trudged over to the chair, exhausted and plopped down, burying my face in my hands.
What is happening to me?
Phoenix's P.O.V
I groaned and opened my tired eyes. I tried to stretch out but only ended up falling off of the small bed and onto the dusty wooden floor.Wait. I don't own a mouse sized bed and wooden floor.
I mean it's wood. I'm not a tree killer. I'm more of a shag carpet kind of person.
I whipped my head up and hopped to my feet.
I gazed around the small room I was standing in. There was a chest at the end of the little bed. I stepped over to it and pulled open the top to reveal a stack of shirts and jeans folded into neat piles. I pulled out one shirt that laid on the top of the stack and held it out in front of me. It was green and looked way to big but it would work.
I took off my old, dirt stained shirt I had been wearing and tugged the green shirt over my head. I also picked up a pair of sleek, brown jeans and held them up to legs. They looked way to long so I folded them up and set them back inside the chest. The shirt was really long so I loosely tucked the front of it into my dusty, blue jeans. I closed the lid and continued to investigate.
Ahaha, investigate. I like that word. It sounds dangerous. Secret agent Phoenix. Has a nice ring to it.
I looked over to find a rickety old desk in the corner with papers cluttered all across. I picked up one of the papers and tried to decipher what was written across it.
Ehhhhh.... A?
Or is that an O?
Screw it. I thought eventually.I gave up on reading the messy handwriting and set the paper back down.
I noticed a wooden door to the left of me that was cracked open slightly.
I walked up to the door cautiously and set my hand on the knob. I tugged it open and it made a small creaking noise. Sort of like one you might hear in a horror movie.
I closed my eyes and inhaled a deep breath. It helped relax my heart that was currently beating out of my chest. With all of my courage I could muster, I stepped out the door and pulled it shut behind me.
I was in an narrow hallway with multiple doors on each side. At the end of the hall was a wooden staircase.
My instincts screamed at me to walk back into the room but then again instincts are for losers.
