My period had me dragging... I almost called into work. Really, what did I need this job for anyway? I had Michael now.
Right where I wanted him.
Memories of him moaning my name through the phone last night gave my core a little tremor. He wants me I know he does. He will love me soon, I'm sure. I just need to figure out a way around this pregnancy lie and Eduardo... He was trying so hard to show me more and more affection, but he was too late with it now. My heart has wondered on to someone new...
Over breakfast, before I could bring up the subject of a separation, he told me that he was leaving Sunday night for Dubai to participate in some workshop. He wouldn't be at the office today either, but was working from home so that he could get everything prepared for his trip. He wouldn't be returning until Thursday.
I should be done with this period by Sunday and that gave me plenty of time to bury myself deep within Michael's skin. I grinned to myself as I properly prepared the conference room for its eight-thirty meeting. As of this morning I'd moved up from paper shredder and coffee maker, to a conference assistant as my husband's human resource manager explained. Prepping the rooms for meetings and typing up notes was my new duty.
I hated making coffee, but not only was this job just as tedious, my chances of seeing Michael were even fewer as the two conference rooms I was attending were on the Communications side where I had to look at that bitch Michael has a crush on. Seeing her walk around with her shiny new lap top made me sick. I had to think of another way to get rid of her...
I heard a light 'psst' and my head shot up, my eyes landed on the doorway. Michael slipped inside and shut the door. The look in his eyes warned me that he was not here for the reason I was hoping for...
Little did he know I actually wasn't hoping for anything right now... except for this period to disappear.
"Where's your husband?" he whispered so fast I barely caught the question. His cologne filled the room.
"He's preparing to leave Dubai, why?" I whispered back, looking him up and down. I could not help it...
"Did you say somethin' to him?" he asked looking back at the door. He kept a good few feet of distance between us.
"Not yet... When he gets back, I'll lay it on him." It was a shaky promise. I wanted more than anything to be a free woman again, but at the same time I do still have some sort of love for my husband. Springing this on him after years of what he saw as pure happiness, would be rough. He may suspect something - something like this...
"Don't." he said.
"Why?"
"Just don't, Li." I smiled a little at the way he further shortened my name. It sounded so natural to him. "He's gonna suspect something." He spoke aloud what I had been thinking. "Let's just wait it out a while." He looked back at me.
I smiled and nodded a little. "Kiss me." I whispered to him, tilting my head up importantly.
"No, stupid. The minute I do some shit like that, someone'll walk up in here." He said looking back at the door and taking a few steps backwards towards it. I rushed him and took him by the collar of his dress shirt, mashing my lips against his.
He talks big, but he can't fight what his body wants... His hands found their way to my waist and he leaned me up against the conference table as his mouth moved roughly against mine. I wrestled his tongue wildly with mine until he surrendered and pulled away with a loud smack.
