12:00 PM

Michael

It felt surreal as I handed my card over to the cafeteria cashier. I was buying Trashae Parker lunch. Man, I been fantasizing about this moment for what seemed like forever - her standing right next to me in line smiling with her tray next to mine. We walked close together and chose a table close to the window that displayed a nice view of the lake outside.

"So, how's your day been, girl?" I asked feeling a blush creepin' up on me. Damn, I don't why I still get so shy around her.

"Good, insanely busy, but good." I tried not to stare at those luscious lips as she took a bite of her chicken wrap.

"I hear ya..."

It was quiet for a moment while we both ate our food and took in the window view.

"So, um... what kind of movies do you like. They gotta a lot of good stuff out right now I'd like to see." I made eye contact with her for a few seconds before looking away.

"I've always been a more romance and drama kind of girl, but I can enjoy a good horror." She giggled softly. "It's fun being scared sometimes."

Horror makes me jumpy as hell. Maybe it's because I've seen too much real life horrors... I smiled wide anyway. Better than being caught crying at some chick flick...

"Horror it is then. So, you free this weekend? Like Saturday maybe?"

She nodded. "Yes, I am."

"Then I guess it's a date." I said feeling the relief. If I can make it through date number two, the rest should be easier. First dates are always so damn nerve wrecking...

"I guess it is." She smiled giving me all them warm and fuzzies.

7:00 PM

Randy came over as usual as soon as I got off work. Can't even be in a good mood around this dude without him asking me twenty questions. I told him about the date with Trashae and of course he remembered who she was from the holiday party. I had to hear him boohoo about how I get all the good lookin' women and he can't find nobody. I tell him the same thing every time. Straighten your act up and when you get yo life right good things will start happening.

We gamed it up for a few hours after that little chat.

"Smoke break." He announced getting up from the couch. I sat my controller down. I needed a bathroom break. We took off in different directions.

I came back and sat down on the couch, munching on some chips while I waited for Randy's slow ass so we could get back into the game. I thought I could hear him talking to someone outside, but then knew it was probably just him on the phone. Nigga was always on the phone lately which had me worried that he was back to running his own little 'business' again. And if that was the case he knew he couldn't be hanging around here no more. And no good girls are gonna wanna come around that.

I sat up straight suddenly, feeling my stomach drop as I heard that unmistakable giggle. No the hell she didn't...

I stormed to the front door yanking it open to see Randy just chillin' outside talking to none other than Mrs. Melendez standing there in her fancy, purple designer coat - a furry hood framing that devilish face.

"Ay man, if you need me go..." Randy said gesturing his thumb over his shoulder.

"Nah nigga, you good. This one needs to go." I said pointing my finger right in her face. Her tongue flew out like some kind of reptile and licked the tip of my index finger. I snatched my finger back giving her a disgusted look. Didya like that salty chip flavor? Nasty... I wanted to ask her, but at the same time I couldn't speak.
