"You bastard!" Jack spat in the mans face, hitting him with the butt of the pistol. The mans head flew sideways from the force of the blow. The man rubbed the spot where his skull was sure to have a crack. "She's dead because of you and your people!" Jack yelled. Jack pulled his hand back, ready to deal another blow when Mel grabbed his hand. "Jack, please stop. I hate seeing you this way. Don't do it. He's not worth the trouble. We'll all miss her, but this won't fix it. Abby wouldn't want it. Please, Jack. For Abby. For me." she said calmly with sadness and sorrow in her eye, a tear slowly trickling down her cheek. Jack slowly lowered his arm and wiped the tear off of Mel's face and planted a kiss where it was. "Okay, Mel." he whispered in her ear. Jack kicked the mans shin and said "That's for pissing me off."
The six of them went around removing the restraints and waking the rest of the group up. "We're in The Capitol, people. We're leaving in a few minutes. Kate, lead us out." Jack told the few remaining. Matt, Mel, Jack, and the man were the last ones left. Matt pulled Jack aside and asked him "What are we going to do with him?" Jack starred at Matt with a different emotion his friend had never seen in his eyes and replied "You're going to take Mel and I'm going to kill him." Matt starred at him and asked in a questioning tone "Are you sure?" Jack just starred at him and replied with a cold and confident voice "Yes." Matt walked away and told Mel to come with him. As the door behind them shut, there was one lone gunshot and then dead silence. A few second later Jack walked out, blood on his hand and looked Matt in the eyes. "It's almost over."
