Chapter 5: Battle of the Amazon

Agents lines up, waiting to be assigned to a gunship jet, heading towards the Amazon. Parker and Joseph walked down to the hanger. An agent welcomed them and walked them down to a ship.
  "What's the situation?" Joseph asked the agent.
  "The Amazon is under severe attack. He can't loose this spot because it is the site to an old base with artifacts." Said the agent.
  "Why don't we use it anymore?" Parker asked.
  "Edward shut it down a month ago, he said there was no longer use for the position by he didn't bring the artifacts."
  "What? If we shut down a base, it has to go threw the permission of the council." Joseph said.
  "That is something you will have to talk to Master Mela about." The agent replied. "Here is your ship. It will be taking off in 5 minutes." Then the agent walked away. Joseph and Parker got on the ship. There were 2 other squads inside the ship. They were getting buckled up inside the seats. Parker noticed a picture on the floor next to a bag. He picked it up. He saw 3 people inside the picture, they were, Joseph, a girl, and an older kid then Joseph.
"Hey Joseph, who are those to people?" Parker asked. Joseph turned and looked at the two other people, and sighed, as if it was a bad memory he was thinking of.
Finally Joseph replied after a few seconds: "Maybe Parker, that's a story for another time." He took the picture, and looked at the girl in the picture. Then he put it away in a bag ok he floor. He sat back and began to think deeply. "Parker, there's something I have to tell you." Joseph turned to Parker.
"Yes?" Parker replied.
"I don't know how to say this..." there was a few moments of silence. "Your going to have to break up with... Abby, your ...girlfriend." Parker stood up immediately.
"What, why?" Parker demanded.
"Because you put her in danger." Joseph said.
"Then I'll quite the I.S.D." Parker said angrily. The other soldiers started to stop talking, and watching what was about to happen.
"The Dark Army won't care Parker, they knew what you can do, if you quit, they will hunt you down. If you continue to date Abby, you put her endanger." Joseph tried to explain. "They will cease her, and use her as leverage against your own feelings to drive you to the darkness."
"No, just cause you can't get a girl friend in over a year, doesn't mean I can't keep mind." Parker said.
Joseph stood up. "Do you think I wanted to tell you this? Do you think this is some type of joke!" Joseph started to raise his voice. "It's for your protection, and hers, Parker!"
  "Whatever." Parker just said back to Joseph. Then he walked to the other side of the ship and sat down. The other crew members were silent.
  "Parker?" Joseph said, calmly. No reply, Parker was ignoring him. Joseph took a heavy sigh and sat down. Then the pilot spoke.
  "We are now lifting off and heading towards the Amazon. Be prepare for any crash landings that may occur, this isn't a normal drop off, this is war. Good luck." Then back door of the ship began to lift up and close. Outside they could hear other ships doing the same and taking off. The ship Joseph was in finally took off, and flew into the sky. Most of the ride was silent, D.C to the Amazon, an hour trip at the ship speed. There was an occasional whisper.

About 10 minutes before the landing, Joseph and there squad leaders rose up and received a transmission from Jacob, one of the council members and General of the assault. "We are having a hard time pushing, good thing we have reinforcements now. What is your plan Master Calvin?" Jacob said. He was at the base of the assault for the I.S.D. There were troops around and in the background, explosions and yelling happened.
"Maybe we could go threw the trees. My understanding is that they got rid a lot of the trees in the area, but there are groups of trees throughout the battle."
"Correct." Jacob said.
"Then maybe I could take my platoon to go through the trees, and ambush them, because in the holomaps, there is one particular batch of trees that leads from your point, the the heart of there base." Joseph said.
  "Sounds like a good plan, while you do that, I will push our troops and we will surround them." Jacob said.
  The both bowled and there hologram turned off.
  A few seconds later, the ship shook.
  "Alright boys, we are comin on your stop. Brace for violent shaking as I avoid these dang missiles." The captain said in a southern accent. The soldiers got there weapons ready. Joseph looked over at Parker and saw him getting ready. He didn't bother to talk to Parker because he knew he would lash at him.
  A few seconds later, the back door opened.
  "Alright! Let's go, go, go!" Joseph said, then he jumped out. Then Parker and the other soldiers jumped out of the ship. Then the ship flew away. The other people in the ships jumped out too, and the reinforcements arrived. Jacobs forces were distracting the Dark Army while one part of he reinforcements joined him and Joseph with his platoon glided towards the trees. The soldiers activated their parachutes while Joseph used the force to break his fall. Once they reached the ground, they took off there parachutes.
"Alright, this way men!" Joseph said. They reached walked in the trees. It was a silent walk, and hot with humid. They were walking down next to a small swamp. One of the men spotted something in the water.
"Wait, I saw something." The agent said, he then cautiously stepped in the water. Joseph turned around.
"Wait! Get out!" Joseph yelled. Just then a giant alligator came out and bit the agents leg. He cried in agony.
"Help!" He cried. Then Another alligator jumped out on top of the agent and he was dragged under water. The other agents began shooting, but 3 others came and snatched another agent. Joseph ignited his blade and swung it in the water, killing 1 of the alligators. The other swam away.
"We have to move on." Joseph said. When the rest of the group walked past the swap, they saw two bloody bodies in the water. A few minutes later, the got to the center of the base, and was able to spot the head quarters of the enemy base.
"Sir! They are overrunning us!" Said a Dark Trooper.
"That's impossible, fight harder, we can't loose this spot!" Commander Harr yelled.
The Dark Army was getting pushed back do to the reinforcements.
"Alright, move!" Joseph yelled while he ignited his blade. Parker ignited his blade too, and the began running out of the trees towards the dark soldiers. The other agents began firing and running too.
"Ambush! Fall back, fall back!" Soldiers began to yell. Harr looked all around him as he saw the I.S.D was getting closer. Then he ran out the door, and exited the building. A pilot was about to get in a fighter, but Harr shoved him out. He began to take off.
Joseph and the others regrouped and the enemy forces surrendered. But they saw a ship taking off.
"Fire!" Jacob said.
"Hold!" Joseph yelled immediately after. "The ship is already out of range, let him go." Jacob and Joseph walked inside the command base.
"Something bothering you?" Jacob asked.
"Yes." Joseph replied.
"About Parker?"
"Thad part of the reason." Joseph said. "We got into a fight, about him breaking up with his girl friend."
"Oh, he got mad? And you think he hates you now?"
"Yes, and I'm worried what it's going to do to our friendship. I didn't want to drag him into this."
"Joseph, Parker is lucky to have you as his master, you been trained by one of the greatest, and you are just as wise and powerful as your old master. In time, Parker will realize why you want him to do this." Jacob tried to reassure Joseph.
"Thank you Jacob, and, do you know anything about Edward shutting this place down?"
"No, I thought it was an abandoned base for years now, since 2000. You can talk to him once we get back to H.Q."
"Actually, can you get me Master Mela?"
