4 - Lover's Travesty

Short chapter I know, sorry! But this one is just a rundown of the affair between Svetlana and Bertrand.

Bertrand still comes to the manor every day. The guy is old but he looks young. Well, he didn't really teach her anymore, he only goes there for Svetlana. And she feels disgusted whenever she sees Svetlana flirt with the man. She tried telling her father about this when he came home one time but he got mad at her again. He didn't spoke to her when he left for another business trip.

Since then, she stopped talking to everyone unless necessary. Svetlana also began making her do all the chores in the house. Their maids tried helping her once but they were reprimanded and threatened to be fired if they do so. They feel sorry for her but they didn't want to lose their jobs. That she understand.

She became withdrawn and lost her liveliness. The once sparkling manor becomes a somber place. Dark and eerie but nobody except her and the maids noticed it. Yet they can't do anything about it.

She wakes up in the morning to the constant barrage of noise in her room courtesy of Svetlana. She made her brush her shoes, wash her clothes, clean every room of the manor, do grocery, cook dinner and other stuff the maids can do. She was slapped, smacked, grabbed by the hair, pushed and kicked every now and then.

She can fight back but that will only make Svetlana violent. And the witch knows how to manipulate her father to get infuriated at her. She planned on leaving this place but Svetlana froze all her accounts leaving her with not a single penny in her pockets.

So she stayed and watched. What is the use of fighting if all the people she is fighting for already turned their backs on her? She has no one. So she just stopped living. Waiting for the day everything ends.

She became lifeless, lost. And no one was able to bring her back to life.

Svetlana and Bertrand lavished in the wealth that Pietro can provide. Indulging in unlimited shopping, out of town trips, spas, parties, sex and everything it can offer.

Bertrand never tutored Snežana. He became Svetlana's lover. And he knows not to disobey this woman. He is now staying in the manor with the illusion of making sure Snežana is taught of everything she has to learn.

But underneath that false impression is the truth that Snežana became a maid in her own house and her tutor is the lady's lover.

Everyone in the manor knows of their affair but no one dared to speak about it. They know that if they uttered a single word to someone else, they are dead.

And so the lovers' travesty and sordid affair continued.
