A/N: Okay so inspiration has struck me! Lol uhm honestly I only know this characters basic story so I pretty much winged this one-shot. Hopefully, it's still good. Enjoy!
(Y/F/B)- Your Favourite Band
This is the song played later on in the one shot:
You blink lethargically, the lingering draughts of sleep escaping as you break the cold waking world. Your body feels stiff and achy, every movement sending dull pain singing up your spine. Your head felt as if it were filled with cotton, leaving you woozy and disoriented. Perplexed, you frown and attempt to shake the cobwebs from your memory as you gingerly sit up to absorb your surroundings...
The familiar aroma of cinnamon and vanilla reached your nostrils, the comfy recognizable cushion of a springy mattress beneath you. Walls painted the bright shade of ruby red made your head throb, posters of (Y/F/B) plastering them in a protective layer to dampen the effect of the horrid colour choice. Textbooks, scraps of paper and strewn clothes cluttered the carpeted floor in a miscellany of items that should have been picked up at some point but were forgotten in the rush of everyday activities.
A matching bed sat opposite the one you were currently resting on, its covers rumpled, dishevelled and cold in appearance to indicate its vacancy for some time. The single window in the room was tightly shut, blinds drawn to block out the outside world.
You were in your dormitory.
Groggy and disorientated, you shifted your legs off the side of the bed and rose to your feet. Clearly, your room mate was out. She was probably attending that idiotic college party one of your neighbours was throwing –which was a common occurrence since campus life was pretty much part central in this building. Although she attempted to get you to go out more often, you usually refused which was probably why she headed out without you. Not to mention, she had a pretty heavy crush on the host so naturally she had jumped at the opportunity to socialise with him.
You mentally rolled your eyes at the thought, finding those sentiments beyond tedious. You had no time for the distraction of a relationship when you were just beginning to piece your life together, but you were thoroughly annoyed at the noise pollution the bash provided. The pulsation of the bass heavy music vibrated through your paper thin walls even though the party was four doors down the hall according to what you could piece together from a few days prior. It was mind-numbingly deafening.
How the hell did I sleep through that?
The question disturbed you for more than one reason. Firstly, you were a light sleeper and jumped at every thump in the night thanks to your residual paranoia that you could never really shake off. The slightest disturbance was usually enough to send you jolting upright, aggravating your keen senses. So, how did you manage to pass out when your whole room was practically shaking with music? Secondly, you were still clothed in your work uniform, which was stiff and itchy against your sensitive skin so combined with the music, you shouldn't have been able to sleep at all.
What the heck is going on?
The questions reared, tumbled and tangled in your mind in a growing knot of threads as you stared at your uniform, which, oddly enough appeared to be stained with dirt and spots of something scarlet that had the hackles rise on your spine.
What happened?
The question was a valid one considering you couldn't remember anything from your last waking moments, your memory distorted and blurred as if you were viewing it through some thick mist that slithered and coiled over the ground like tendrils. A chill pressed to the back of your neck like fingers of tension, making your muscles tense in reaction as you attempted to shake off the buzzing thoughts.
