I just sat there in my bus seat, pressing my hand against my cheek. Wow. I guess this year most of the kids are jerks. Awesome.
All of a sudden, the bus came to a pit stop. I looked out my window, and there I saw it. High school. The number one thing most people dread. Everything I do or say counts once I step into that place. No wrong moves, it'll cost my reputation. Suddenly the doors of the bus opened, and it became as crowded as ever as all of the kids walked down the aisle of the bus. I got smacked in the face by about 3 book bags so far. Heavy, hard, backpacks. Doesn't anyone have manners around here?
I waited for everyone to get off the bus, but the girl I was expecting to go after stopped at my seat and in a kind voice said, "You can go ahead." I nodded and replied, "Thanks." I jumped off the last step of the bus and it was a hectic mess. Kids running, teachers screaming, what did I get myself into? This isn't ANYTHING like my expectation... Then again, things happen for when you least expect it to.
I took a deep breath and paced towards the front doors of the school, looking down, and trying my best to not get noticed. That was a success. Now I just had to get through the crowded hallways without butting through people's conversations or get looked at by those girls that think their perfect, and deep down inside judge people when they see them. I pulled out my slip of paper that told me where my home room was and I looked around the hallways, keeping the number in my head. I looked to my right and there it was. The classroom. The ugly, annoying, miserable classroom. Oh I hate my life. How many more days until the last day of school? Oh I remember, 180 stupid days of being judged. I took another deep breath and walked into the classroom.
I looked around and looked for somewhere to sit. There were name tags on the desk so I had to look for mine, Riley Regeans. My name tag was on a desk in the middle of the room, in the front. I slowly walked over to the desk, avoiding any possible eye contact, and slowly sat down, just staring ahead pretending like I didn't know people were looking at me. Life is hard.
As I stared ahead, I noticed a boy walk in, and I swear to god, he was the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen. I quickly looked in the other direction and rubbed my teeth together like a rabbit would. I couldn't help but feel his presence in the room and he got closer and closer to me. Then I heard a chair move behind me and I felt him close. He was right behind me. Crap. What do I do now. Do I just sit here and pretend I don't know he's behind me? Or do I turn around and say hi or--.. What should I do. You know what, I'm just gonna pretend I don't know he's there. Perfect idea. What did I sign up for?
