Daniel kissed me cheek as he dropped me off for my first day of senior year.
"You'll be okay?" He asked.
"I hope so," was all I could say.
I stepped out of the car, shutting the door behind me, and walked to the front door. I waved at Daniel as he left.
I opened the front door and stepped inside. Everywhere I looked, there were posses of girls and guys, chatting away. When they saw me, they all started whispering, laughing, pointing.
Fierce.
Flawless.
Unafraid.
I walked through the hallway, trying my best to be those three words.
Another senior passed me, laughing.
Fierce.
Flawless.
Unafraid.
I walked to my first class and sat down, ignoring everyone. I made it through, thankfully.
At lunch time, I sat alone, eating my food. When I went to take up my tray, though, this happened :
Melanie Parker, a preppy drama queen, walked up to me, with a basket of fries in her hand.
She said, "Well, if it isn't the slut herself," and grinned.
I tried to walk away but she stopped me.
"Woah, woah, woah. Where do you think you're going?" She asked.
"To dump my tray. Seriously, go away."
She looked at me funny. "I don't think so." She lifted my jacket in front of me and dumped the fries in my shirt.
I gasped, but just ran away, dumped my tray, and then went to the front office, crying.
"I need to use the phone," I mumbled.
"Yeah, right there," the lady said, pointing.
I walked over and dialed my home number.
"Dan! I need you!" I cried when he answered.
