Chapter 3: When nothing goes right go left

I squeezed my eyes tight as something cold and wet hit me in the eye, opening my eyes i realised i was in a cave, The floor was rocky and uneven and very uncomfortable; there wasn't much space. I hated clastrophobic places. I could hear heavy breathing coming from across the cave. I sat up fast, making myself dizzy. I saw Kiaros sat on the cave floor. "K-Kiaros?" I went to sit beside him, rubbing the side of my head because it throbbed. My legs were shaky and weak. "what's going on? i felt so dazed. The last thing i remembed was being tired to a hospital bed by that man.." what are you even doing here, this is a dream,.. right?" I asked, staring head. I thought it best not to look at his face. he stared at me and gave me a smirk, " heh no. Why would it be a dream. We're in Leasionia. " He shrugged as if it was matter-of-fact . I sat quiet wondering where Leasionia was. I sighed heavily. ' are you sure?,.. Nothing seems familiar." I felt a little freaked out. He pinched my cheek and now i was lost for words. I didn't think if this were a dream anyone would feel that so vividly. Except now my cheek was stinging. This Definately had to be real. " Leasionia? " i asked confused. I rubbed my cheek and wished he hadn't pinched it now, but it gave me reason to believe it wasn't a dream. " Hm, it's a place inbetween the light and the dark, Heaven and Hell. Souls and Demons dwell here. This is where they go in death"
There was an awkward pause.
"Death.. am i.....Dead? " the colour drains away from my face. I tried to push that depressing thought out of my mind, i was here with Kiaros now and that made me happy." Not quite.. You're in what we call a ' parallel universe. ?".....oh.. Kiaros?...

Hm?"

" just one more question..How did i escape that guy with the big nose and., that weirdTalking creature thing..?" I turned to look at him and he was already staring at me, his face was stoic but something in his eyes gleamed
Playfully. I was stunned by his beauty, even though it was dark, i could just about see him. "Well, I saved you, duh." A feeling of delight washed over me. He'd saved me! That meant he had to at least care about me an that also meant i was one step closer to gaining his love and making him mine. oh the joy. I tried to keep a straight face. But obviously it hadn't worked. " what are you grinning at? Stupid woman. someone had too. Don't look so gleeful, it looks silly. i didn't do it because i wanted to. Trust me.' Said kiaros, flicking his hair out of his eyes. His cold word had tore a hole in my heart. I felt it drop heavily little, and i bit my lip. I wanted to know why he had done it if it wasn't for me." Uhm okay? Then why did you..? " i stuttered, i felt so anxious and I couldn't finish my question. . A little smile formed at the side of his mouth, he spoke gently as he said " How many questions are you going to ask me? Geez... " I stared at him a little hurt and looked away looking st nothing but the floor . I didn't mean to annoy him.
" fine.. " he sighs. " I did it because i had to, you're more important than you know, you don't know it but you hold the future inside of you and without you, we cannot fathom whether there will be a future for us." I cocked my head slightly,confused, just like a puppy. " im important? ohh, no, no.. i've never been important to anybody. How can I be important? Just old plain jane me..." I gave a nervous goofy laugh and looked at his angelic face waiting for his explanation on how he was only joking. But looking at this expession he wasn't joking at all. ' do I look as though this is a joke? You have to take this seriously annabelle. You are trapped here now until we find a way to undo all this. " A sense of dread overwhelmed me, and i said depressingly, but truthfully. "I'm just constantly a letdown, a faliure.im not even sure what you mean by 'us. I don't know what you're expecting of me. Why are you even helping me. You don't even seem happy to see me and how long have you known me?"
There was a long awkward silence before i let out a sigh, i wasn't sure why we were just sat in a cave, but it was calming and kinda nice when you're sharing it with the love of you're life.. who doesn't even know you love him, but still.. it was nice. He looked annoyed and said icily. " have I ever shown excitement towards anyone? you let me down without knowing. You should never have come here. I'm sending you home as soon as I figure out how too. But no, You know you're wrong you're not a constant let down..that would be me. A faliure would be me. Now..,Don't say anything more.. !' He snapped. He now laid on his side with his back to me, staring at the ceiling. I swallowed hard. I knew he could be a callous person, he was just awful at expressing his self I guess. " just know you're not a faliure, you're a kind person, and you help others before yourself," i reasured him, but nothing could take away the sad, guilty look I had seen in his eyes. " what did I just say? " he said sternly. " Stupid woman."

" AHHHHHHHHH NO! Im sorry.. Im sorryyyy, im sorry, just... " i woke as i heard shouting and weeping, which startled me. I looked around to see Kiaros standing up, his eyes closed. He was weeping and screaming in anguish. A Fire was roaring on the ground and fire burning his leg. I Shook him and called his name several times , before he began waking up. He groaned before opening his eyes. " What is it? " he asked he annoyed, he didn't seem to know he had been shouting loudly Or about the fire... " your on fire!!! Ive been trying to put it out..'

" Ohh.. Uh... It's okay .. He patted it off his leg . " wait.. This doesn't burn me! Hahaha!!- I mean- " he rubs his neck awkwardly.

" what?! " I gasped. How could fire not burn him? Any normal human being would of screamed in actual agony.. His seemed like he'd forgotten.

He laughed awkwardly.

" im Uh... Tough skinned.." It can't burn me like it burns you."

" oh.. " I furrow my brows. I'd known him a long time, why didn't I know any of this ?

" I- i always have been a sleep walker and I can't remeber when it started, i just rember it happening all the time." He sat down on the floor and gestured me to do the same. " I.. i am a faliure, you don't understand." his voice trembled and his face was pale. " Then help me to understand, i want to help you,maybe then i can help myself."

I hadn't really learned much about him or his past and family, which makes me feel pretty lousy to be in love with someone i realised i hardly knew at all. He held on to me, staring at me intensely . " I..I couldn't save..." He tried to supress his anger. " I tried, so hard, So DAMN hard. But In the end that didn't even matter.. that night .. I can never forget. You don't understand, you don't know what it's like.. It's humiliating. "

" no I don't know what it's like.. I haven't the slightest Idea what your on about so I don't know what to say, or what it is you think you did, sure you're mean sometimes. Your pretty secretive, sometimes you don't think things through before saying it out loud, but I really don't think you're a bad person.. my dad always said to me " When nothing goes right, go left" I always take his advice. and his cookies " I said deviously at the end.

" that..., isn't... Your dad's advice.." he mumbled.
