---------->>>>>> Our beautifully damaged Roxanne :D

_____________________________________________________________________________

By the time the summer of 1909 rolled around, Roxanne had reached the ripe sweet years of her life. At seventeen years old, she had exceeded the world's perception of beauty. Some said she was graced by a goddess at her birth, others said that she was the result of a man who caught a falling star and granted it to his daughter.

Regardless of the outlandish tales, one thing could always be agreed upon. She was a heart breaker and was bound to leave thousands of men broken and forgotten as she went on through life.

At seventeen years old, she had reached the time in her life when she would be driven to madness from within. She was a lady by day and a siren of the night. Never failing to seduce the swarming men, and bend them to her will. She was a temptress and the darkness of the night was her kingdom; where she thrived on the jealousy of other women, and on the attention she received from so many of the strange adoring men.

As for her family, they were never really in the pictures of Roxanne's life. For her it seemed easier and less complicated to be acquainted with strangers. Anytime her family was around they immediately became side-lined and forgotten in the bustle of Roxanne.

Let the record show that no matter how hard they tried, their efforts were always wasted. As far as Roxanne was concerned, they weren't necessary to her survival so she rid herself of them at any chance got.

She was only ever close with two people, both of which - as you will learn by the end of her story - contributed to her end, one way or another; Sir Roy of Edington and Aurelie de Trahis. While Sir Roy has quite obviously been portrayed as Roxanne's lover, Aurelie is an entirely different part of the story.

They came to know one another through mutual parental friends, and as children, created a bond as best friends, or in Roxanne's case, her only true friend.

But of course, as any two friends, they'd had their go of ups and downs. Usually with Aurelie folding and always going back to Roxanne with groveling apologies.

In my own personal opinion, Aurelie waited for too long before she decided she was done with Roxanne's games. But that is for a later part of the story.

Point being, though Roxanne was sought after by most, if not all, regardless of gender. She seldom had true friends and confidants that she could talk to and in some harsh manner of speaking, she was a lonely girl in her vast world of manifested happiness.

It was in some ways, a lie, and in other ways the truth. While she did lead an extraordinary existance, in the brightness of the days where her kingdom couldn't reach, she was a lonely, lsot soul, seduced into believing that a lonely survival was the best form of living.

She could try as she might, to fool the others, but not I...while I may not have been a highly influential character to Roxanne, I was the one that could not be fooled.

Roxanne, who fooled nearly all, was no doubt a sensational actress, but not quite good enough. And maybe that was her fear all along, to not be good enough to pull off her best stunt of all; true happiness.
