This week, a series of cases came up where the dead victims of the Greyville murderer had bite marks on their necks, exactly two.

Now, we all are thinking,  Vampire bats! Oh, no!  All the blood was drained from the victims, leaving them with a pasty hue.

Bats can’t do that, can they?

We went to our lead scientist, Dr. L. O. Lichtenstein (Lorcan Oliver) and he replied, “Niet. That is not possible for the plain bats to do. Vampires, yes,  is possible.”  If you speak Greek*, here’s the message, Φόβος ο βρικόακες.  Ο ώρα έχει έλα . If you speak  Spanish, Miedo la vampiros. La tiempo tiene venir. If you speak  Italian, Paura il vampiri. Il tempo ha venire. If you speak French, Peur la vampires. La temps a venir. If you speak Armenian, Վախ Արնախումներ. Ժամանակն է, որ եկել է. If you speak Russian,   Страх вампиров. Время для этого пришло. If you speak Polish, Wampiry strachu.Czas na to jest tutaj. If you speak Afrikaans, Vrees vampiere.Die tyd daarvoor gekom het. If you speak Filipino, Takot vampires. Ang oras para dito ay. If you speak Romanian, Frica vampiri.A venit timpul. If you speak Yiddish,

מורא וואַמפּיירז פֿאַר די צייַט האט קומען.

If you speak Korean, 시간에 두려움 뱀파이어가왔다.

If you speak  Hebrew,

ערפדים חוששים שלהגיעו הזמן.

If you speak German, Angst Vampire für die Zeit gekommen ist. If you speak Danish, Frygt vampyrer, er tiden kommet. If you speak English, Fear vampires. The time has come.

That’s it for today!

Lykaios Il Potere e la Vita stared at the newspaper with a look of utter disbelief.  “Hey, look! She really put it in depth.” He called over his shoulder, still concentrating on the words.

His older sister, Laica, crept up behind him. “Oh, wow.  More news?” She said sarcastically. “No, really! They managed to put the daily message in Romanian and Afrikaans!” “Sure.... to be or not to be, that is the question. Wait...is that a question?” She wandered off, reading from her Lit book. Lykaios sighed. It was really hard to talk to Laica when she was immersed in schoolwork.”Larina?” “Yes?” “Look at this newspaper!” Suddenly, a pottery wheel whirred to life in the kitchen. “Actually, I can’t. The power came back on.” Larina said apologetically.  Another sigh extended from Lykaios. “Lavinia?” His sister yelled back, “Ask Laiea!” “Laiea!” She came running.

“Yeah?” Her black hair flew in front of her olive skinned face, causing her to grumble. “If only we could cut it....”

“You know the rules!” Larina yelled over the whir of the pottery wheel. “Yeah, yeah,” Laiea made a face. “Or the Sarableu will get me.”

The entire household turned to face her. Lavinia was trembling. “Don’t you dare say that word,” Laica’s eyes burned with fury- and fear. Before Laica could get even further, though, Lykaios gently pushed her aside. “Come on, Laiea. Let’s go.”

But before they could get very far, everything went black.

Two nights ago, the esteemed Sarableu, master of Gnosticism, and his adopted children, who were all genetic family, well- their house was bombed. The only survivors were misses Larina and Laica, and his only son, Lykaios, the resident young werewolf. Lykaios, 15, says, “I can’t believe Laiea’s dead. It’s kinda like running into a brick wall, then not getting up. It’s hard to talk, to breathe, to live. it’s - it’ll be really hard without her- everyone. It’s already hard.”

We can imagine, Lyk, we can imagine. So all the folks out there,

Lykaios ripped up the paper on Laiea’s grave, and let them scatter. “****, Laeia, why did you have to die? God, even Laica could die, and she’s my twin! Just not you, kay? Not you..” He sobbed.

A man in black touched his shoulder. “I can help you get her back.” Lyk turned at him, black hair falling in his face. “Yeah?”

“Yeah.” The man looked amused. Lykaios looked at him for a long time.

…................................................................

“Nah, thanks.” He stared at the grave of his favorite sister. “I just need revenge. And that I'd swear in blood."
