Beth POV

It didn't take long for them to be overrun from the home they were staying at.  It never failed.  Either you were forced out by people who want what you have or your forced out by walkers.

Then Beth and Mac came upon a sign:

'Glenn,'

Go to Terminus,'

'Maggie'

Beth angrily wiped at the tears that were falling.  Instinctively Mac pulled her closer to his side.  That action made Beth fall even more in love with him.  Beth had dreamed of being reunited with Maggie and having a happy reunion, but now she knows Maggie doesn't even believe she's alive.  Mac is the only person she has in her life whether she finds Maggie or not.  Not hard to believe that either when your own flesh and blood gives you up for dead.

Daryl POV

Looking at the destruction of Terminus and his friend that saved them, Daryl was instilled with the hope Beth had given him.  Hugging Carol after she bravely saved them made him know they would find them too.

Chloe clung to Daryl.  Chloe was a dark haired woman who was about twenty-five.  Daryl had rescued her from a train car while their group escaped.  They also have four other new members to their group; Tara Chambler, Rosita Espinosa, Abraham Ford and Eugene Porter.

They were talking about leaving  for Washington, DC.  Something about Eugene knowing how to cure the virus that causes people to become walkers.  Daryl was fuming and their group was split.  Not even split.  Carol, Rick, Michonne, Carl, himself, baby Judith by default and Chloe were going to stick around and find Beth. Chloe, a stranger who doesn't know Beth from Adam is willing to look for Beth, and Maggie and Glenn, her own sister and brother-in-law are going off with strangers.

Daryl felt guilty for losing her.  He felt guilty for the feelings he was beginning to feel for Chloe too.  He knew he and Beth had shared a moment in the funeral home and he would feel like the biggest asshole in the world if Beth was fighting her way back to him to see if they could share something more, only to find out that his feelings had shifted to someone else.

Mac POV

When they had found the church, Mac wasn't sure what surprised him more; that someone pulled a crossbow on him or that his cousin Daryl was the man that did it.

"Mac?" Daryl said with a shaky breath.  "Beth?"

"You were the guy?" Mac asked.  "That she escaped with from the prison?"

Daryl held the crossbow tighter to him.

"You're the guy that was with that piece o' shit group that took her?" Daryl spat angrily.

"Don't hurt him!" Beth shouted.  "He saved me!  He's the reason I'm still alive!"

Daryl lowered his weapon.

"She's the reason Imma let you live," Daryl spat at Mac.  "But if you hurt her or anyone else in our group, I won't hesitate ta put a bolt in yer head, kin or not."

Beth POV

Beth felt a spark of jealousy when she had seen Daryl holding Chloe closer to him.  She loved Mac, but at the same time she couldn't help the 'what if's' from building in her head.  The biggest 'what if' was 'What if I didn't meet Mac, and while I was searching to reunite with Daryl, thinking he loved me, I find that he had fallen for another?'

Brushing the feelings aside, Beth made a vow to get to know Chloe better.  She placed her head on Mac's chest as he held her tighter to him.  She looked up at him and he pulled her into a tender but passionate kiss.  She smiled sweetly as their lips parted and he gave her a small smile.  She knew then that any non-friendship feelings for Daryl had been wiped away.  She knew then that she loved Mac with all her heart and Mac felt the same about her, and she also knew if Daryl and Chloe weren't there yet they would be there soon.  All was right in the world now.

Well, as right as the world could be in the middle of the apocalypse.
