"Any time soon, mother. You, father, Emma and I will be together again. One big happy family, just like old times."

"If I'll hear that annoying sound of your alarm one more time, Elly, the floor will be so lucky to receive your kiss this early in the morning." Emma grumbled, her voice being muffled by her pillow on her face but loud enough to be heard for her sister across the other side of the room. No response was thrown from the latter and instead a slow buzz sounded that is slowly rising into a higher pitch.

"Now you've done it!" As Emma bounced from her bed, her hair sticking on all directions but with one destination in her mind, the door of their room suddenly burst open.

"Elly! I've been calling you for the past 30 minutes! Your bathwater is getting cold already."

A woman wearing an apron over her nightdress, with medium length light-brown hair and a frown donning her face entered the room and stopped on her tracks when she caught sighted of her older daughter - with an almost murderous expression, tracking towards the bed of her sister.

"Emma," the woman cleared her throat, stopping the said person midstride. "You can go to sleep, I'll handle it." She smiled as another buzz again sounded from the bed of her younger daughter.

"Gee. Thanks, mom." Emma replied.

Their mom, Elizabeth gave her thumbs-up sign in return as she sat on Elly's bed. "Elly."

"Mmm..."

"Your father is already furious outside, you know."

"Mmm..."

"You can't afford to be late, can you?"

A rustle sounded as Elly turned her back against her mother and continued on sleeping.

"Well, it is still only quarter past 7, so-"

Suddenly the occupant of the bed shut out from the bed gathering her towel and her change of clothes and headed straight out the door.

Elizabeth chuckled and winked to Emma as she heard the door of the bathroom being opened and shut in a hurry across the house.

"Works every time."
