“Oh my god, this food is so good!” I took a bite into my greasy hamburger. Jc giggled and glanced at me.

“I told you! Now, after we eat, we can hang at my house if you want. You’re gonna be here a while and there’s a spare room, so maybe you could stay with me.”

“Ehm, I, uh, okay!” Living with a guy I met 2 hours ago may be a little…strange.

We both walked out to the sidewalk. When we were about to leave, he pulled two penny boards out from his backpack. He stepped on one, and looked at me.

“You’re seriously expecting me to ride that thing? I’ll break my neck!”

“Come on Shawna, I’ll teach you. It’s easy! Watch.”

Jc kicked the ground, and he sped down the sidewalk. He maneuvered the board so quickly, I thought he would fall; but he didn’t. Turning the corner and kicking his board up, he yelled to me.

“So Shawna! You wanna try?”

“I… I guess so…” I put one foot on the board and slowly pushed off the ground.  The world around me was moving so rapidly that I had no idea where I was going. I lifted one foot off of the board to stop, but I just tripped over myself and fell. I felt my muscles tightening and I was falling hard, but a pair of arms wrapped around me.

“Whoa! Looks like someone needs some lessons!”  Jc and I both laughed.

“Thanks for catching me Jc.” He put on hand on my shoulder.

“Hey, I’m always here if you need me.”

I felt the blood rushing to my cheeks and I wondered how bright my cheeks were. Gosh, he’s so adorable. The way he smiles, the way he laughs, everything he does is just perfect.

Shay, you met him two hours ago. He’s nothing more than a friend, a tour guide.

Walking along the hot streets of Texas, Jc and I talked for a while. We really got to know each other. I know almost everything now, like his dog named Wishbone is a thug, and he has 3 younger siblings; Jaylyn, Joe Felix, and Ava. He knew nearly everything about me too, like my friends Connor and Jessica back home.

When we arrived at his house, I was pleasantly surprised.

“Jc, your house is beautiful!”

“Thanks, so are you.” He flashed me that signature smile

“What?”

“What? Oh, nothing.”

Did he just call me beautiful?

“So, Shay, ready to see your new room? It’s nothing special, really. Just a plain ‘ole spare bedroom.”

“Well, sure, I guess.” I followed him up the stairs and through the hallway, into this tiny room. He was right, it really isn’t anything special. It’s super small, probably the size of a master bathroom in a hotel. But, it will have to do. I can make it work. Jc threw me a pillow.

“Well, it’s getting pretty late, I’m gonna hit the hay. See you tomorrow.”

“Yeah, see you tomorrow. Good night!”

I changed into a pair of sweatpants and a light T-Shirt [http://www.polyvore.com/shay/set?id=84526999] and put my hair into a messy bun. I plugged in my headphones and played the song I always fall asleep to; Lullaby by OneRepublic.

A/N: I'm so sorry this chapter is late! I've been really busy with homework and stuff so I didn't get a chance to upload :( But luckily school is over soon, so I'll have more time during the summer! Yay!
