I can hear sobbing. I can feel a throbbing in my head. My leg feels numb. I can't open my eyes.

What is going on?

I slowly try to open my eyes but it feels like a giant weight holding them down. I take a breathe but no such luck. I know that whoever is crying is close by so I move my fingers to maybe give someone a sign that I'm awake.

"Josh," I hear a voice say a little to loud. I groan and turn my head away from where the sound came from.

Someone grabs my hand and I can feel them stand over me. "Honey," I pin point the voice and I suddenly wish it was someone else's. Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions. "Josh, open your eyes, honey. I need you to open your eyes."

I can tell that she was the one crying because her voice is shaky and uneven.

I try to open them again and it felt like my eyes were heavy with sleep. I kept blinking though and refused to give up. As soon as I got them opened and focused, I saw the person who was holding my hand and crying.

"Mom?" I croaked and my voice came out shaker than I had expected.

"Robert, go get the doctor."

I turned to see who my mom was talking to and I thought I was looking at a figment of my imagination or maybe even a ghost. Why was he here?

My father was standing by the door, emotionless. He nodded his head and proceeded to leave the room to go find a doctor.

"Water," I said and my mom nodded her head and grabbed a paper cup that held the liquid I desperately craved. She handed it to me and I downed the water with only a few swallows. My throat felt instantly better.

I sat the cup on the table that was next to this foreign bed that I was laying in. I had already picked up on the fact that I was in a hospital bed so more than likely, I was in a hospital.

I took in my surroundings slowly from starting at the far left of the room and scanned the room till I reached my mothers eyes.

"Why am I here?" I asked. "All that I remember from yesterday was that the guys were supposed to graduate today. Wait, I need to get to the school! What time is it? I need to get going. I can't miss this!"

I attempted to get up but my right leg still felt numb. I went to pick up the sheets to look at me but my mom grabbed me in the middle of my attempt, telling me to just leave it.
