Chapter 1
He stood there, watching me. I was frozen in fear as he just stared at me, with those big, terrible eyes. The eyes responsible for giving me vivid nightmares every single night since I was six years old... I can still hear his blood curdling voice, forever in my head, saying "Go to sleep."
It was a Saturday night. Mom and Dad had gone out on a date with some friends. They wouldn't be back until real late, or possibly the next morning. My sister, Jenny had put me to bed and I was around asleep until I heard someone screaming bloody murder. I didn't understand the true meaning of that phrase until that night.
I walked into the hallway, and followed the screaming into into Jennys room.
I wish I hadn't.
Jenny, my 14 year old sister, was lying in a pool of her own blood. Her eyelids were gone, and they were outlined in black, as if someone burned them. Her stomach was cut open, and her innards were spilled everywhere. But the worst part; her mouth was cut open at the corners, so she was forced to wear this sick, twisted smile.
A man stood crouched by the open window, with his white, bloodstained hood over his head. I tried to scream, but the sound wouldn't escape my throat.
He pulled down his hood revealing his terrible, pale face. His eyes matched Jennys, and he smiled the same, twisted bloody smile that Jenny did.
My instincts told me to scream, to run from this monster, but there I stood, paralyzed in my own fear.
The man took out a large knife and approached me. The evil smile never left his face.
"Go to sleep."
