Jeff opened his eyes.
The brightness of his surroundings was painful at first, but then he began to realize where he was. He was in the middle of the forest, the sun directly overhead, shining through the trees.
He yawned loudly as he stretched his cramped arms and legs.
"Oh man."
He looked around, trying to pinpoint his location in the woods, knowing he needed to get back home to his kindly shack, in which all his little sense of security was housed. Based on the disturbed leaves and small, thin blood trail, he determined which way he came and started off in that direction.
Jeff's stomach growled, and the hunger for food and craving for blood spilling were growing heavy. So heavy that he almost didn't notice that the trail of unneglected leaves was wider than usual.
Was I... Being followed?
Jeff wondered, but quickly brushed the idea away. He was, after all, recovering from the chilling effects of a bad trip.
Ah, I know where I am now.
Jeff thought to himself as he recognize the area. He had strayed farther from the shack than he thought.
He returned to his sanctuary and pulled out a couple of cans of sardines and poured himself a glass of whiskey.
Mike. I forgot about that kid there for a minute. I think it's time we continue our little game with Mikey.
Jeff wasn't tired, but he layed down in his bed anyway. He was gonna need the rest for the next few nights.
He reached in his hoodie pocket to throw out his knife, but then felt something foreign next to the blade, and pulled it out. I was a small, folded up piece of paper.
His mind raced as he unfolded it and read out loud what it said.
Don't go to sleep, you may never wake up.
Jeff's heart pounded with rage as he crumbled up the paper and threw it against the wall, knowing who he was dealing with again.
