Rudy's POV

I watched her sleep silently. She doesn't move, but she does talk.

I didn't want to sleep, I didn't know if I'd have her nightmares and dreams as well. I feel everything she does, I can hear every thought she has.

This morning I'd delayed my arrival to the bathroom. The memory was so vivid and the truth was I wanted to find her cousin. No man had a right to put his hands on a women, unless the woman is psycho and trying to kill you. But that was clearly not what was happening.

It was also very evident her memory hadn't been changed. I suppose what angered me the most was knowing through her thoughts that her tía hadn't done anything about the altercation.

"Ru..."

My eyes snapped to Dinah's beautiful face. I'm glad she hadn't worn any makeup. My mother doesn't, she doesn't need to. Neither does Dinah.

I let the walls down I'd created to keep out Dinah's thoughts, and peered into her mind through her eyes.

I smiled at Rudy, and he smiled at me. He had this glowing happiness around him and it wasn't until I'd looked down it dawned on me.

Rudy was rubbing my tummy. I'm pregnant.

I brought the walls back up, unsure of how I felt. It's the bond our souls had that made her dream that.

The bond. Soon I'd have to drink from her, and in a year I'd have to turn her. Then she'd be able to be in my mind, feel my emotions.

The idea was unnerving yet extremely appealing.

I wasn't even going to attend the Gathering the other night. No, it was my brother, Marcus's doing. He insisted being mated was much better than my bachelor life style. Of course what he wanted to say but couldn't because we were discussing the matter in front of our mother, was that being mated was better than being a fuckboy.

"Dinah," I whispered. "Wake up, amor." I gently shook her.

Her hypnotic brown and green eyes opened, and I could feel myself become aroused. I shook it off, its to early to suggest sex.

"Mm, buenos días!" Dinah yawned, stretching her body while still lying in bed. I felt the right corner of my lips tilt upwards. Dinah's lips mimicked mine unknowingly.

"C'mon, breakfast is ready for you." I kissed her long and hard on the lips before pulling away.

She had this dazed look of pleasure. Nodding, she got out of bed and slipped on her light blue slippers. I held my hand out to her, and she took it.

I lead her silently down the way towards the dining room. Dinah's eyes wandered over every painting we passed, every little statuette.

Once in the dining room, I pulled out the seat to the right of the head of the table. I then took my place at the head, in my rightful place.

Penny, the young cook I'd often thought of sleeping with, came out with Dinah's crepes and my glass of a positive. Penny eyed me, in clear view of Dinah, and it had been a massive mistake.

Dinah watched her every move around me, sending glares at Penny. I guess Penny didn't get the notice of me finding my mate. I no longer looked at Penny with lust bit in boredom.

Penny was no where near to the beauty Dinah possessed. While Dinah was small and lithe, Penny seemed too... too slutty. I'd hired Penny for her once exquisite assets, but now those seemed far too excessive. Penny didn't posses the elegance Dinah did.

So I paid no mind to Penny. "How did you sleep, love?" I asked Dinah.

Dinah's attention quickly flicked to me. She gave me a forced smile. "Fine, your bed is really comfortable."

"Any dreams?" I was curious if she'd tell me about her baby dream. I'd found myself liking the dream more with every passing second. Odd, because I've never been fond of children.

"A few, yeah." She took a big bite of her crepes and moaned. "My God, this is freaking delicious!"

I laughed at her evident admiration of the food. "Yeah? I've always liked omelets more than crepes."

"Mm, omelets are good, too. But I like breakfast sandwiches more than omelets," Dinah said.

She gave me a smile while her mouth was full. It was surely one of the most adorable smiles I'd ever seen. The way her cheeks puffed out as she chewed.

"I was thinking I'd take you shopping tonight, seeing as how you have none of your clothes from home."

"Why not now?" Dinah asked confusedly.

"The sun is out, mi amor, and I don't trust anyone but myself to keep you safe," I answered. "So we'll go the vampire malls tonight."

She nodded. Dinah then opened her mouth but shut it. Open, shut, open, shut. Finally she looked me square in the eyes and asked, "My knowledge of vampires are limited, Rudy. Will you die if we go out into the sun?"

I chuckled, her bluntness beautiful. "Yes, mi amor, I will die if I go out into the sun."

"Oh..." She paled instantly.

"Don't worry, love," I said and grabbed her hand in mine. I rubbed soothing circles on the back of her hand with my thumb. "I'm very careful."

I gave her me cheeky smirk and winked. Dinah giggled and continued to eat her crepes.
