Sorry if this turns out as a rant rather than a poem.
People are always pushing you to grow up.
Parents, teachers, friends, significant others, employers, even people you don't know,
This list of people never ends.
"Grow the fuck up" they will say.
"Be mature, be an adult."
"THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING!"
Numerous things can and will be said to you.
All regarding growing yourself up.
They are all so wrong,
Life is for living,
You don't need to grow up,
You need to purely live.
Live the way you want,
And act accordingly, with some maturity.
If your personality includes childish ways,
That is okay, because that is just who you are.
You need to be you.
Whatever that qualities that makes you,
Who you are, who you are supposed to be.
Live like you are young if that's who you are.
It is your god dammed life.
Never let other people change you.
That isn't right, no one can change you,
Only you can.
My opinion is to not grow up,
Grow mentally.
By growing mentally I mean to figure out you,
Find your needs, desires, hopes, goals.
Find yourself whoever that may be,
Most importantly, figure out what you need.
What you need to be as mentally stable as you can.
Because no one is fully mentally stable.
We all suffer, in so many different ways.
Find what makes you the fucking happiest,
The happiest you, that you can possibly be.
Don't grow up,
In fact you never have to grow up.
Only grow with your mind into what you desire
Search, and continue to search,
For what your mind needs,
What you need, to feel complete.
Destroy things,
Turn all of the fucking tables.
Burn the bad, toxic things.
For fuck sakes live.
Live a real, true, messed up, wonderful,
Beautiful, life.
We all deserve that.
You don't need anyone.
You need you,
Only you and your magnificent mind.
So break shit, go through those awful times.
Because you will, it is inevitable.
Be as crazy as you want,
As long as your living.
Just take the time to focus on your mind,
Realize what you need,
Become mentally stable,
Whatever mentally stable means to you.
Fuck the rest.
You have one life,
If you can be mentally smart to keep you safe,
You have the right to do whatever you want.
So no, don't listen.
You don't need to grow up, you need to grow even.
Grow mentally.
As you do this, make sure of one thing,
As you let yourself grow,
Have the best fucking time doing it.
That's what growing is,
Purely learning, living, hurting, feeling.
Live your own life,
Don't let anyone control you ever.
Only grow in your own way.
