-The Next Morning-
-Cecilia POV-

"Morning!" Damien chirped as he came into the kitchen.

I barely glanced at him and continued grilling the two sandwiches that were filling the kitchen with a mouthwatering aroma.

"So what did Carrie tell you yesterday?" He questioned, sitting down on the stool.

Sighing, I put the sandwiches on a plate and placed it on the table in front of Damien. "She told me she was going on a trip the time of our first college break." I answered, sitting down on the other side of the table.

"Oh. That sucks. Where will you stay then?" Damien mumbled through a mouthful of food, his hand waving in the air.

"I don't have a choice but to still stay there, just alone."

His eyebrows raised but he didn't say anything for the next five minutes.

"You know what? You could stay at my house, I'm alone too and I have an extra bedroom." He suggested, his eyes gazing at me as if to watch my reaction.

"I don't know. I wouldn't wanna be a bother." I murmured uncertainly, stuffing the last part of my sandwich into my mouth.

"No you wouldn't. You're quite welcome to come." Damien assured, smiling at me.

"You have a house here?"

"Yeah, it's my uncle's but he's letting me use it."

"That's nice." I nodded and stood up, starting to clear the table.

"So?"

"I'll think about it." I answered simply, flashing a small smile at him.

"Good. Now hurry up, classes start in 20 minutes."

"I can't wait to start the assignment." I exclaimed excitedly, rubbing my hands together gleefully.

Literature class had a new assignment, and that was to write a long story, with plots. Not a book, just a long story.

"Yeah, you should be happy we are doing it together." Damien grinned at my pout directed at his sentence.

"I wish not." I scrunched my nose up, thinking hard.

"Don't worry, I'm pretty good at writing."

"You better be." I warned, waiting impatiently for him to unlock the car door.

Again, classes were over so Damien was carrying me to Carrie's house.

"So what is your dream, to someday do?" Damien asked, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel.

"Being a famous writer and to travel the world." I responded promptly, a faint smile lingering on my face.

"Wow. I'm not joking here, but traveling the world is something I've always wanted to do." Damien answered, glancing at me.

"So we'll meet in Africa then." I murmured teasingly.

Damien chuckled and nodded. "Sounds awesome."

He pulled up to Carrie's house and switched off the ignition.

"Look Cece. If you have problems with staying at my house on break, you don't have to."
