Joe's POV

but because I'm mute. I don't talk really. I find it hard to find the right words to say. I want to talk Joe I really do. Only if you will start the conversation.

I go to the next letter.

She has been writing to me. All these things and I haven't even began to notice.

I saw your sister today. She's back with him. With the guy that is making her life miserable. The reason she cries in the bathroom. Do something Joe! You can't be so oblivious! Im pretty sure everyone else can see the scars! Zoë the scars aren't faded. I should know.

Zoë? Zoë has been cutting again.

I shove the rest of the letters in my bag and run to Zoë. She's trying to snuggle into Alfie but he's talking to another girl.

I run over to her and grab her arm. Alfie doesn't even flinch.

I walk her over to a trash can and grab her wrist.

What I saw I wasn't expecting.

Scars.

Lots of scars.

"Zoë..." I say.

"How did you know?" She whispers.

"From the letters Amy gave me" I say.

We're at home now Zoë and I look at the letters.

"She really loves you Joseph" Zoë says.

"I-I guess so" I say stuttering.

"She's being taken" Zoë says.

"She can't leave" I say. Zoë looks up at me confused.

"Do you love her?" She ask, placing the letter on my desk.

"She's nice, but I don't love her" I admit.

"Joe you need to do something, she's going crazy"

"Zoë! Don't say that! She's not!" I shout.

"Okay!" She shouts back.

"You can't leave her hanging Joe" Zoë shouts.

"I know"
