Your POV
Today was the same as any other day, the normal sounds of gladers forcing themselves awake to get working, and sounds from the animals, I stayed in my hammock, lying awake until I'm nearly deafened by the blaring sound of the Greenie alarm. "Right on time" I think to myself as I go over to see who's coming up. I only go over there to be polite, there's really no reason for me to go over there, no one notices me anyway. Once the box opens I look past the boys and see the new arrival, a boy with dark blonde hair and brown eyes, sitting against the wall of the box. I walked away, knowing that nobody would notice my absence, and go over to my hammock.

As I walk over there, someone runs into me and I topple to the ground, as I open my eyes I saw the Greenie. "Hey! What are you doing?!" I snap at him. "S-sorry" he mumbles. "I was just getting away from everyone, are you okay?" He says softly. "Yeah, I'm fine, what's your name, Greenie?" I ask him. "I'm Newt, but that's all I can remember, what's yours? He responds, shyly " I'm Y/N and it's perfectly normal, to not remember anything. It happens to everyone." I tell him. "Nice to meet you, Y/N, I should really be going, see you around" he says, walking away. "See ya." I respond, even though I don't plan on running into him again. I prefer keeping to myself mostly.

The rest of the day was the same as any other, working mostly, then lunch, more work. I always disappear from the other gladers and lay in my hammock. I've always preferred the quiet, it gives me room to think, though I don't have much to think about. Besides that, I really enjoy the bonfires, it's nice to gather up once in a while, for good fun, I think it helps relieve the stress of the maze and W.I.C.K.E.D.

After work and some of frypan's dinner, I went back to lay in my hammock, just until the bonfire for Newt. A few minutes after I've drifted off, I wake up to a thick British accent. "Newt" I think to myself. "Hey, Y/N. I came to see how you were doing, you disappeared right after dinner." He says, cautiously "Are you alright?" He tells me, shyly. "I'm, fine. Just relaxing a bit before the bonfire." I respond. "I was hoping you'd be going, see ya then." He responds, his accent heavier this time. "Yeah, see ya." I tell him, as he walks away.

At the bonfire, I see Newt, waving for me to come over. I go and sit next to him, my back against a log. "Hey, Greenie." I say with a small smile, something I haven't done in the time I've been here. "Hey, Y/N, how're you feeling?" He asks me, kindly. "I'm alright, a little tired, I guess. How're you?" I respond. "I'm doing pretty good, they other gladers have been nice to me since I've been here." He answers. "That's good." I tell him.  "Y/N, why do you think we're here, what's the point?" He asks, after a few minutes of not speaking. "Honestly, I'm not sure. I constantly asked myself that when I first got here, and I still do. Whoever did it, they're some sick, twisted people. I respond. "You're bloody right, why would anyone force anyone into a giant maze?" He asks, obviously a rhetorical question. "That's enough questions for now, I'm gonna go to bed." I tell him. "Me too." He responds. Suddenly, I feel his arms wrapped around me and, without thinking, I hug him back. That's the first time I've ever felt friendship since I've been here.

Laying in my hammock, smiling like an idiot, I think about Newt at the bonfire, I don't understand why he wants to be friends with me, out of anyone here, he chose me. It's really nice to have someone notice me for once, really notice me, I mean Thomas and Minho talk to me every once in a while, but I think they're just being polite. I think Newt might be the first glader who actually cares, he really wants to know how I'm feeling, I can hear it when he talks to me, he genuinely wants to listen to what I have to say. I think we'll actually be friends.
