Aomine Daiki had skipped practise. Again.

This time however, it was with consent from both his senpai and from Satsuki so all was well. Except, not exactly.

He had had a long conversation with the two, promising it was the sake of practising.
"Look, I get it! Tetsu proved me wrong, friendship and teamwork is magic blah blah, blah I get it! I have to work with my team. And I will, but lemme just go play a little bit of streetball just this once!" he pleaded, a contemplating Momoi to his right and his undecided Senpai on his left.

They exchanged glances. "Satsuki, come on! It's the Generation of Miracles v.s poor random unexpected strangers! You can come too, and Tetsu's gonna be there with Bakagami , come on! Maybe we can even discover some new moves up their sleeves."

In truth, he still felt like his teammates were at a lower level than himself and if he were to improve (from his already practically flawless level,he thought not) it would be with help from his former teammates. Or rather, the people with the same level as himself.

"This is boring." Marusakibara groaned, and for once Aomine couldn't help but agree.

Many hadn't recognized them at first, but once it got around to the actual game it was quick and easy to tell. The groups that weren't already made by acquaintance had been chosen at random.

And like the purple haired giant had said it was boring. Kuroko had been paired up with people who couldn't catch his passes no matter how hard they tried, Kagami couldn't get along with any of his new fellow players, Marusakibara hadn't even bothered to get on court and Aomine decided he didn't want to either. Kise on the other hand was too busy with fans that came out of nowhere and Akashi hadn't even bothered playing since the others weren't. As for Midorima he hadn't even showed up.

So much for practising.

However, there was this one somewhat strong-team that everyone had been watching thus far. They had basically won the entire event.

"Who dares challenge the Undefeated King! Speak now, or suffer from your cowardly behaviour forever!" the dark skinned, light blond haired boy yelled.

Personally, Aomine felt irritated by the egoistic remark. However, if he went on court there wasn't really any satisfaction in it at an easy win. He knew for a fact that the others felt the same way.

Except Tetsu. He smiled at the thought. That boy would surely go in recklessly like he had not only once, but twice as Kagami and Kise had informed him. A bunch of bullies, who were picking on high schoolers as well as when Team Vorpal Swords had formed.

Good times.
But, before his former shadow could react, a weirdly low voice responded.

"It is I, a random person who has gotten much to irked by your cockiness to stand by any longer." At this, even Marusakibara looked up to see what was to happen.

A man, about 5'7 in baggy clothing and baseball cap was revealed, as the crowd parted to showcase the new 'rival'.

The team snickered, looking at the lithe form.

Honestly, Aomine couldn't exactly blame them. The man had broad shoulders, but broad hips as well and it fit strangely around his chest as well. The grey baggy t-shirt went about mid thigh and the basketball shorts about his knees. Despite the big feet and hands, he could've passed of as a girl.

There was a handkerchief covering his mouth, and glasses covering his eyes. You could barely make out any features.

The only thing that was remotely intimidating was the voice, the aura and the well toned claves and biceps on (s/c) skin.

After the team was done their hysterics, the leader raised an eyebrow.
"A weakling like you? Well, this will be easy."

What surprised everyone however, was the good natured laugh in response. He kept calm and collected as he brushed passed the other team and onto his side of the court, his teammates shaking like children behind him nervously looking back at the team.

"We'll see about that." the man responded in English, which Aomine knew enough of to understand what he had said. His gaze shifted to Kagami, who had lived in America long enough to know fluent English himself.

It had caught his attention. "A fellow....American?" the accent would prove correct.

"This should be interesting. I'm quite curious to see how this turns out." Akashi murmured beside him, causing all of their attention to him.

"Akashicchi....do you think they have chance?" Kise asked, quirking an eyebrow.

"They do." it was Kuroko responded firmly. "The chance is only 0% if everyone on the team gives up. So long as he is playing, that will not happen." Kuroko stated, pointing his chin towards the direction of the man.

And so they game began. The other team had received the Jump Ball and were going in for a fast break, it was going well until-

The man, tapped the ball out of his hand and dribbled with amazing speed to the other side of the court catching the other team off guard at the quick turn of events.

However, the other team caught up quickly double teaming the man. They were both towering over him as well. He was done for unless-

The man bounced passed quickly to his open teammate who did a layup to the net and scored.

The crowd went wild, as Aomine contemplated moves the man's team could use. After all, now that the team wasn't going to underestimate them any longer, what could they do?

The game was far from over.

It was now in possession of the other team, as they went full offence rushing to the other side of the court quickly dodging the defence until-

That man again. Once again he tapped it out, only for the ball to remain under the possession of the other team. However, the man was all over him giving little space to breathe much less shoot. The man was forced to pass to another who was further from the net.

The game went to chaos from there onwards. The man stole the pass in mid-air by jumping at the perfect timing and then rushing to the other side of the court and dunking it.

Aomine voiced aloud the very question that was plaguing the minds of all the spectators.

"Who is he?"

And at that moment, he caught a glimpse of a (h/c) strand of hair fall out of the baseball cap and his eyes widened. But the hair was tucked back as soon as it came loose as if it hadn't happened at all.

So had it?
