Silvus knocked again, drawing his cloak tighter around himself as a sudden gust of cold air swept around the corner. He could hear at least two people hurrying round and was sure he could hear them talking in whispers - something that had only begun after he knocked. As he had walked down the Chief's "house" he had thought he could hear a female voice he recognised but couldn't quite place.

There was another gust of cold air before the door eventually opened.

"Hello, I am Alaric, Chief of the monsgesti. Who are you and how may I assist you?"

"I am Silvus Colla, Guardian of the forest that you call Do Owl Aht El and, as I previously stated, I require an audience with you." Silvus bowed slightly as he spoke.

"Very well, Colla, you may come in. I am sorry but I'm not used to getting tw- I mean, getting such important visitors here in my village and so as such our hospitality may not be at it's best."

"That's very well - as this was an unexpected visit I accept that you may not have been at your best when I arrived. However, down to business. Do you have somewhere I can speak to you in private, somewhere away from listening ears?"

Alaric looked slightly uncomfortable with this request as if he were annoyed by the idea that Silvus thought his people would eavesdrop on an important guest they did not even know was there. He smiled however as he gave his answer.

"Of course, Colla, if you would care to step inside there is a small room below the house which nobody can access from outside if it locked by my key."

"Thank you, Chief Alaric, any small amount of privacy you can achieve is much appreciated."
