Silvus laughed to himself softly ashe entered his castle again. The mortals had already started to fallfor his tricks – they believed he could use magic to disappear whenin fact all he had done was turned and ran, much faster than theirminds could process his actions. He knew that their belief in hismagic skills were what would win him both support and the war –nobody, especially Elaine and Lacussa needed to know that in fact hewas quite poor at magic and that he struggled at even the best oftimes to produce the most simple of spells.
In reality, the worse his situationwas - the more pressure he was under or the more that was at stake –the worse he became at using any form of magic at all, even to thepoint where his glowing skin would pale and all his inborn knowledgewould start to disappear. It was a true sign of a poor Guardian whentheir glow began to fade as, with the glow, went their prolongedlife.
Regardless of the truth however,Silvus felt he had made a good first impression on the mortals andthat those who feared him enough to join him would do so soon andthose that refused to stand with him would be terrified of hisperceived threatening and mysterious power. With a small smile on hisface, he began to wander vaguely in the direction of his newlypurposed Strategy Hall where he was going to begin planning for hisbattles and also, his victories.
