( Mars's POV)

I can't believe we moved to this small town. I can't believe I actually like it here too. It's better than San Francisco, where's everything is too close and fast pace for me. My mom married a white guy named Erik who's in the navy. I guess I can call him my dad since my real one is in dead. Erik was transferred to the small town of Blithe Hollows.

"So Mars do you like it here?" I nodded. I really don't talked to my family much, plus I have mutism. "Erik has to go the town hall and sign some papers but he'll be back before dinner. Maybe you should test your new camera. I saw some woods near the high school, just be back around 10."

"O-okay mom." I got my camera, put on my beanie since it was cool out, and grabbed my jacket in case it got cold later throughout the night. I kissed her cheek and went outside. It's beautiful out here. I've always loved nature, just feeling at peace. Where I can be myself.

It wasn't hard to find the woods or the school. I like how everything is in walking distant. "Hi Carson do you like it here?" "It's kinda creepy but it cool."

Carson is my best friend.He died from suicide..He was bullied a lot, but My brother,Luke,was his only friend. He always talked to Carson,hung out a lot. I was his date for homecoming too. I don't know why I kids where mean to him. He was so sweet and kind.

But he snapped and lost it. He brought his mom's pistol to school and threatened to kill himself. Carson wasn't seeking attention he was seeking help. Luke tried to save him...but it was too late. Carson took a bullet to his heart.

"I mean it's better than home." I nodded and smiled at Carson. Oh how can I talk to him if he's dead? I can ghosts and how the causes of their deaths.
