*If everyone had a guardian angel like mine, that saved them without trying. And helped them without knowing, then the world would be a brighter place*
Fate is about as fallible as any human being. Meaning, we all make mistakes at one point or another.
One mistake that we human beings have continued to make is placing the burden of our lives in the intangible - try nonexistent - hands of Fate. By saying things like, it could not be helped; it was all Fate's doing.
Wrong, you could have helped it. You would just rather not admit it.
Another mistake we have made is giving Fate too little credit. Because the fact of the matter is, there are some things that really are out of our hands.
They are up to Fate to decide and you to accept... or put up with, depending on your attitude.
It is an even toss up, really. You do not get to decide whether you are born a girl or a boy, a prince or a commoner, you just have to work with what you have, to the best of your ability.
You do however get to decide what happens when you are placed before a fire breathing dragon, chanting your name, all while you are holding an enchanted sword...
Hold on! A dragon! Where would you get the sword from? And why are you fighting a dragon in the first place?
And that, that is exactly where Fate comes in. True, it is Fate's job to come up with a dragon, a sword and a plausible reason for you to be there in the first place...
But sitting around with a book in your lap while you look out the window, waiting for Fate to swoop in and insert you into your new life? Is not going to cut it.
Fate has higher powers to answer to as well, you know. So, when Fate decides to risk their career and builds up all the odds towards or against - happens sometimes - your favor, then Fate better be right.
Because, you see, Fate might just write your ancestry in a way to land you with this magical sword. And maybe Fate can swing it so that you are next in line for a dragon battle.
But what if you are standing before the dragon when you decide:
Goodness! This is hard! I don't even want to do this anymore. I'm done here...
At instances like this, Fate slumps in their seat and covers their face with their hands. Because if there is anything Fate hates? It is people that decide not to live up to their potential.
So when Fate takes a chance on you, they are going to make sure you are worth it. That you deserve it and you will not let them down.
That you are ready.
How does one prepare for their life? It is simple. That book? The one in your lap? Don't just read it, and dream and wish on it.
Read it. Dream. And plan.
Plan something bigger than anything anyone's ever heard of in the history of ever doing anything!
And then get to work.
It is moments like these that Fate rises from their chair. Steps out to the sky and looks down upon the humans and remarks,
"Alright, I'll bite."
