Sorry I haven't uploaded in awhile I've just been haveing writers block and my computer keeps deleting parts of my story after i get almost done.

                                                                        Ch. 3   Wakeing Up

When Fox Trot got back on base, Jack and Sam rushed the little girl to the hospital.  While Joe, and Bob filled Zach, their fellow squad member and nine year old martial arts specialist, who was injured in the last training op, about the girl, and how they expected him  and the others to treat her as a sister.  Zach was so exited he just wouldn’t stop asking questions about the girl he saw them bring in.

“Is she going to join us in Fox Trot?  How old is she?  Does she have any special talents?”  Zack kept asking as limped along after them, with his crutches to help him so as not to use his broken leg.  He kept on asking them, but when they came to the big window of the I.C.U. he shut up and didn’t say another word.  Instead he just leaned in to get a better look at the girl in the bed, who had already been hooked up to all of the machines, being tended to by several doctors.  She was the most amazing thing that he has ever seen even though she was still dirty.  She had pretty long black hair that fell to the small of her back. Her skin had the olive completion that had been kiss by the sun. Then if you added her long lashes, her round face and her small figure there was only one word to describe her,  cute.

“We don’t know her name, her age, or anything else about her.  Except that her parents sacrificed their lives to save her and that she tried to save a young boy who looked about her age, and wouldn’t let him go even though she was unconscious.  She has a strong fighting spirit and I think that she will be a very nice addition to the team.  Remember, like a sister. Nothing more than a sister. Ever.”  Joe was looking at him the way he always looks at the boys when a girl joins the team.  Joe’s green eyes bore a look of warning that strangely suited him.

“We’ll let you know when she wakes up.  Go get the rest of the squad and have them report here when she wakes.  For now go and rest you’ll be needing your strength soon.”  Bob said as he and Joe walked in to her room.  But Zach didn’t budge; he just sat there and watched Sam explained the extent of her energies.  From the look on Sam’s face the wounds weren’t too bad apparently, but enough to knock a fully grown man that was as strong as Joe, unconscious.

“Guys, she’s waking up!” Bob said as Sam came Running in.

"Mommy!  Daddy!” the girl screamed as she opened my eyes.

“It’s OK little one. You’re safe now. Can you remember anything? Your name? Age? Were you were found? Can you remember any of it?” said one tall man. Though he was tall he seemed pretty average and really pale with reddish hair and eyes that looked like they were made of the same blue as the sky. He looked like he was on fire.

“My name is Kim King Yon and I’m six.” Kim looks around. “Where are my Mommy and Daddy? Where’s Lee? Where is everyone? All I remember is that everyone was singing happy birthday and then the loud warnings went off….. Where’s Lee, Mommy, and Daddy?!”

“Ok Kim, that is a good start. My name is Sam. I’m sorry but there is no one else. They all died in the bombing.”

“No, Mommy, Daddy. NO! NO, NO, NO!” Kim couldn’t believe what she was hearing there was no way that everyone else was dead. It just couldn’t be possible.

“Kim, my name is Bob and I know that this is a major shock for you. It was a major one for us too. But your parents must be happy because they managed to protect you. You are alive so cheer up, ok?” This time it was the other man who spoke. This Bob. was shorter than Sam, but not by much. He was tan with brown hair and eyes the same jade green as Kim’s mother’s favorite jade necklace. He was also a bit meatier than Sam.

BANG! The door shot open and Drew Kim’s attention to the two men who just walked in.

“How is she? Can she remember anything? How bad are her injuries? Did you guys tell her anything?” the one that spoke was a tall, buff African American with a buzz cut and milk chocolate eyes. He looked like he was actually concerned.

“Joe, she’s fine. She said that her name was Kim King Yon and she is six. She’s in shock and we told her about her parents.” Sam was saying while Joe was studying me.

“Good to hear that you’re alright. Kim as you just heard my name is…..”

“Your name is Joe. Just like the fire is Sam and the shorter one is called Bob.”

“Very good. Since you know their names I might as well as tell this bozo here behind me is Jack. He is the one who found you…….”

     “Hey is bozo really necessary?”

“Yes, yes it is now if you will stop interrupting for a second you clown. I’m trying to talk to the girl….”

“Ok, Ok. Fine as you says your majesty…..”

     “Ahahahaha, you guys are funny!”

     “Why thank ya little lady.”

“Jack if you’re going to keep acting like a clown then leave. NOW.”

Jack turns around to leave and says “as you wish sire.” Joe throws the book in his hand at the back of Jacks head just as he runs out of the door. As Joe turns back around he shakes his head and then he sees Kim laughing and he fights back a laugh of his own.

“Ok, Kim do you have any relatives anywhere you know of?” Joe asked. When he watches her shake her head he gets an idea and asks her “Kim would you like to come stay with me and my wife?” Kim’s reply is a blank stare like she is thinking about it. Then all of a sudden she starts nodding repeatedly.

“Very good, now rest up and then there are some people who really want to meet you and some things we need to talk about in the morning. Sam will stay with you tonight is you need anything don’t hesitate to ask.” with that Joe left the room thinking 'I really hope that Laila agrees to adopt her. I know that she wants a kid. I can’t believe I made that promise before consulting Laila.'

Joe walked in his front door as quiet as possible. When he closed the door he heard pots banging from inside the kitchen. So he dicided to tiptoe down the hall and peered his head around the corner. When he saw Laila facing the stove he sneaked up and grabbed her from behind.

"Laila there is something that I need to talk to you about."
