Ch. 1 6th birthday
"Happy Birthday Kim!!" I turned around startled to hear the voice and saw Lee Young Je wearing a funny mask. "Thanks Lee you are the best! Oh and great mask!"
"Kim! Where are you?!" I turned around and called "coming" in the direction of my home. I turned back around with an exasperated look on my face as I told Lee "I'll see u at the party ok? I got to go now."
"That's ok. See you later."
"Ok. Bye-bye." I said as I turned around to go in. My mother met me by the door with an annoyed look on her face. She's had that look on her face for the last hour now and it is staring to really bug me.
"Kim, can you please stay inside so that your pretty little dress won't get dirty. I want you to look perfect for your 6th birthday. OK?"
"Yes, momma. Whatever you say." I said with as much sarcasm as I could muster. But luckily for me mama was back to concentrating on making the cake. So I walked back to my room to read for a little while.
I was just starting to read my favorite book when I suddenly saw something out of the corner of my eyes. It was a pretty little box wrapped in some paper with a cut little bow. As I walked towards the box I noticed the card with grandmama's signature on it. As I walked over to it my papa called me to come outside. So I grabbed the box and unwrapped it and I saw that a very pretty dress was in it so I put it on and papa called again so I ran outside as fast as I can. As soon as I walked out of the house I was nearly knocked backwards when everyone shouted "happy birthday!" I looked around startled to see everyone here at my house for everyone was supposed to meet at the town square.
Dad picked me up and put me up on his shoulders. Then he started down the road to the town square with every one joining in behind us. It was like a huge parade just for me. When we finally made it we walked in to the square and music began to play. After an hour I went to look for Lee. I walked around for about fifteen minutes before I spotted him by the door.
"Hey, Lee, what ya do'n way over here? The food and games are way over there. Mom's cut'n the cake in like ten minutes." I said as I walked up next to him.
"Hey, I was wondering when you would come and look for me. Got ya a present" said Lee.
"Ooh, what is it, what is it?"
"Close your eyes and no peeking. I don't want anyone else to see." As Lee said this I closed my eyes and waited for him to say open, but it never came. All of a sudden I feel something press against my lips. Oh my god did Lee just kiss me I can't believe it. I can't believe it.
I opened my eyes in disbelief and I look him in the face and he was completely red. I mean from his head to his toes.
"Lee, why did you do th-" I was about to say but I was cut off by the loud sirens. It took me about ten seconds to figure out why the sirens were blaring in my ears. When I realized that the sirens signified that enemy planes were in the vicinity and bombing around us, I grabbed Lee by the hand and started to run to the center of the room where I thought that we would be safest for that was were the most people were. As I reach the center of the room I hear a couple of really close bombs and then I hear one that is so close and then the world has gone black.
