Chapter 3-
Justin-
I saw her, she was getting up out of her seat. What was she doing here? I knew she moved away from Canada, but I didn’t know she would go here. but it was always her dream. I meet her eyes and I forget about the rest of the crowd. It’s just me and her. Her black hair wavy, falls around her face, I can even see her sky blue eyes. I was mesmerized. I couldn’t believe it, after all this time. She hasn’t changed, only she has got more better looking.
Before I could say anymore she was running out the entrance door. I wanted to go after her but I couldn’t not with everyone here. Another girl and a guy got up from their seats and went after her. At least she won’t be alone. I continued with the performance. The whole time though, I couldn’t concentrate, all I could think of was her. Her skin, her smell, her eyes, her smile.
“I can’t do this, I’m sorry guys” I said walking off backstage. Scooter was there. “dude, what’s wrong?”
“Libby..” I couldn’t finish.
Libby-
I reached outside and breathed. Fresh air was doing miracles. I sat on the steps, and before I knew it the tears were coming. Why the fuck was I crying? Why do I care so much? He remembered me. How? Why? Katie and Kent come out and sat with me.
“Libby..?” asked Katie “What was that?”. I sniffed wiping away tears as she put her arm around me. Kent started rubbing my leg.
“Libz you can tell us anything.”
I tried to make words but I just couldn’t say the words out loud. Music blared from the Auditorium, at least he can act normal.
“Me and..” I began
“Go on” urged Katie
“Me and Justin, were friends before he became famous. Best Friends. He left for stardom I guess, and I haven’t seen him since. I don’t listen to his music because I missed him too much. He didn’t even say goodbye. I wanted to leave Canada, so when I was 11 we came out to New York” I was looking at the ground the whole time I spoke, not daring to meet their eyes.
“Wow,” was all Katie could say.
“Why couldn’t you have told us earlier?” asked Kent.
I glared at him “ because, I don’t like talking about him, and I thought if I didn’t tell anyone it wouldn’t be a big deal”. Kent hugged me and I hugged back. He was such a great friend, and an amazing dancer, I often also do duets with him.
“Shall we go and start Lunch early?” said Katie. I nodded and followed them. Just as we were getting up, the music stopped from inside and Justin’s voice came over the speaker “I’m can’t do this, I’m sorry guys”.
We all looked at each other. “maybe he can’t finish the performance because of you” said Katie starting to walk down the steps. I didn’t say anything but followed Katie and Kent to our bags. We went into town for Lunch, they shouted me Lunch at Subway. My favourite.
“You know you guy’s don’t have to do this for me” I said taking a bite of my Sub.
“yes we did, you need it” said Katie
“Agreed, and its only $7” laughed Kent
I smiled. It’s times like this I know I have chosen the best friends on earth. After lunch we made our way back to school and it was just the last 2 periods starting. We all had maths so we trudged there. I couldn’t wait to get home. But I have dance after school, it’s going to be a long day.
--After School—
Kent and Katie wanted to stay around with me after school, but I said I would be fine, dancing will keep my mind off it.
I picked ‘Dog Days are over’ by Florence and the machine because I loved it and I needed to dance fast. I did ballet, jazz and contempory. Those types of dance seemed to suit the song choice. Dancing came naturally to me, I just made the moves up as I went. It was good, I enjoyed dancing like this letting out my frustration. When the song finished, I was breathing hard and i fell to the ground with exhaustion. I went to the speakers and picked another song.
