The next week goes by in a blur.
I attend all of my classes and I try to get used to the college atmosphere. My professors seem nice, though nothing like high school teachers. They don't care if you show up to class or pay attention, it's all a matter of if you want to be there. I like this mindset because it rules out the students who don't care and the ones who do.
I've also been trying to avoid Stuart all week in an attempt to not get attached so easily. I don't want the stress of a boyfriend - or whatever his intentions are with me - right now as I just began college and want to remain a 4.0 student. Though it's been hard considering that his room is literally two doors down from mine and I see him every morning on my way to my psychology class. I feel bad because he tries to talk to me but all I do is keep my head low and scurry off.
I hope he doesn't think that what he said scared me, but it just made me think that if I keep contact with him any longer, I know that I will end up getting too close. I couldn't handle another heartbreak.
"Are we just gonna sit here all day or do you wanna actually have some fun?" Miranda leaps up from her bed and scurries over to mine, her brown - almost black - eyes staring into me excitedly.
"I can't, I already have like 3 tests to study for and I've gotten nothing done and I need to-"
"Girl shut the hell up." She hits my arm and I roll my eyes before giving her my attention.
"Okay so I found out that some famous producer of some famous company is shooting a movie in Stage 4 of this very campus." She squeals at the end of her sentence and I raise an eyebrow at her.
"Why do we care about this 'famous movie producer of this famous movie'?" I ask while motioning quotation marks with my fingers.
"Because! Claire, we could meet some celebrities, don't you want to say you've met somebody who is somebody?" I stare at her dumbly.
"My dad is Luke Bryan." I state nonchalantly and she seems to finally remember who she's talking to.
"Goddamn it Claire, I just am asking if you will come with me?" She puts on a pouty face and I admit, it is cute.
"Why me? Can't you get another one of your party friends or whatever to go?" I admit, I do want to go. Not to see the celebrities - I've met plenty of those - but to see what an actual movie set looks like compared to a music video set up.
"Because none of my other friends give a shit and I can tell, I can see it in your eyes you wanna go!" What is it with everyone sensing my emotions in my eyes? It's not like I have a huge sign over my head that expresses my every thought. I shouldn't be that easy to read.
But I end up giving in anyways and she yelps before yanking me off of my bed, sending my papers flying. Though, she doesn't seem to care as I'm out the door - barely giving me enough time to grab my jacket.
"So, do you even know anything about this movie? How do you know it's even a big deal and not just C-listed actors?" I ask as we walk down the crowded streets of CCPA. It's a Saturday so I'm sure students are procrastinating in any way possible from doing their work. I was hoping to not be one of these people, but look where I am now.
"Because I saw an interview with one of the actors on TMZ news. He was talking about how he is going on his third movie and they brought up his social media standings and he has nearly 80 million combined followers. This has to be our chance to meet some top of the class people!" I laugh at how devoted she sounds. I still don't think she realizes that I've met so many famous people that all of them just seem so normal to me.
We stay in small banter with each other for a few more minutes until we reach a secluded part of the campus, marked off by a gate and a sign that reads "NO TRESPASSING"
