Paulola's POV

Once the Ghost was safely in space, everything began to settle down. Hera and Chopper joined us in the hanger.

Yes, I knew who Hera and Chopper were.

I glanced at the rebels. Each of them was there, exactly as I was told they would be.

Hera Syndulla: Green female Twi'lek. Pilot of the Ghost. Possibly romantically involved with Kanan Jarrus.

Chopper: C1-10P astromech droid. Emotionally attached to Hera Syndulla.

Garazeb Orrelios (Zeb): Male Lasat. Used to be a member of the Lasan Honor Guard. Powerful and highly skilled warrior. Muscle of the group.

Sabine Wren: Human female. Mandalorian. Talented graffiti artist. Wields two blasters.

Kanan Jarrus: Untrained human male Jedi Knight. Owns a blue lightsaber. Master to Ezra Bridger. Possibly romantically involved with Hera Syndulla.

Ezra Bridger: Human male Jedi padawan. His master is Kanan Jarrus. He wields a sapphire lightsaber that had a build in energy blaster.

No one had warned me that Ezra was so cute though.

My mission was simple. I was an Inquisitor-in-training, student to the Chief Inquisitor. I was to earn the rebels' trust and feed the Empire information on their plans and locations. I was also to obey any further instructions.

"How did you get into trouble with the Empire?" Kanan asked.

"I started stealing from the Empire's stores and putting graffiti all over their posters," I explained. That story was supposed to win their trust.

"All by yourself? You've got guts," Hera said.

"She's our kind of crazy," Sabine agreed.

"Where does your family live?" Kanan asked. "I'm sure they're worried about you."

"I don't have any family. I'm an orphan. I grew up on the streets," I admitted. It was actually partially true. I was an orphan. I never met my parents. They were both killed by the Empire.

"Well, you're welcome to stay here with us and become part of the crew," Hera offered.

"You would let me do that?" I asked.

"As long as the rest of the crew agrees," Hera said, glancing around the room. Kanan and Ezra both nodded. Sabine agreed as well. All eyes turned to Zeb.

"Ah, why not. I've got a soft spot for the lonely," Zeb said.

"No you don't," Ezra pointed out.

"Quiet you," Zeb growled threateningly. I smiled.

I almost felt bad about betraying them all.

Third person POV

"Are we almost at the pick up point?" Kanan asked. He and Hera were alone in the cockpit of the Ghost.

"Coming out of hyperspace in a few moments," Hera told him.

"Paulola has made herself really helpful," Kanan commented.

"It has been really nice," Hera agreed.

"I wonder if she has any force talent in her."

"You of all people would know."

"I've tried sensing if she had any, but it's as if something is blocking me from doing that."

"It could be that she has subconscious barriers."

"Possibly, but that doesn't feel like it."

At that moment the Ghost came out of hyperspace, where three star destroyers were waiting. Hera immediately began evasive maneuvers.

"What are they doing here!" Kanan shouted.

"They must have caught some leaked info!" Hera responded, dodging blasts. She turned on the Ghost's speakers as TIE fighters flooded out of the star destroyers.

"We've got TIEs inbound! I need you all to manage the cannons!" Hera commanded.

"Roger that!" Zeb declared.

"What happened?" Ezra asked.

"The Empire was waiting for us," Hera said.

"How did they know we were going to be here?" Ezra asked.

"Someone must have accidentally leaked the info," Hera responded. She turned the Ghost around and prepared the jump to hyperspace. Just as the TIE fighters reached them, the Ghost safely jumped away. Hera and Kanan sighed with relief.

"That was exciting," Hera said.

"No kidding," Kanan said.

"I wonder how they got our info," Hera said.

"I'm not sure, but we'll have to be more careful in the future," Kanan said.

Neither of them noticed Paulola in the vents up above, listening to everything they said.
