Chapter 4

I didn't like this maid thing really. What I did with Lisanna was a step over the line. I never meant to lash out, it was just all those years of my father torturing people in front of me, telling me to do the same.

It felt like second nature, and I hated it.

"It's late Natsu, we need to be up early tomorrow morning for a dungeon inspection." My father told me "Go to bed. I'll see you in the morning." And with that, I left.

(Lucy's POV)

When I woke up I was in a prison cell deep beneath the castle. It was cold and damp, there was no sunlight and opposite me in another cell there was a very sinister-looking man.

I noticed that there was another girl in my cell who was reading a book quietly. She had blue hair, held back by an orange headband and wore a really short orange dress.

"H-hi..." I stuttered.
"Hello, my name's Levy." Said the girl. "What's yours?"
"I'm Lucy." I replied, hugging my knees against my chest.
"Nice to meet you Lucy." Levy smiled at me, putting her book down, and I returned the gesture.
"You too, Levy."

"So, you're here to be a maid too?" Levy asked.
"A maid?" I questioned. What the heck was she talking about.
"Well, since you're pretty, I think they're going to make you a maid. The royal family can do what they want with you, so why would they put beauty to waste?"

Pretty? Well, if you say so...

"Is that why you're wearing those nice clothes?" I asked.
"Yep." She answered, popping the 'p'. "There's going to be a viewing tomorrow, where the royal family inspect the maids and decides which ones they would like."

She then glanced at my clothes, and a look of.. disgust... appeared on her face. "I suspect that they will be back for you soon; you're not going to a viewing wearing that!"
"Yeah..." I sighed, looking away.

Suddenly, we heard faint voices in the distance.
"Right this way, King Igneel." Said a man, the echoing voices seemed to be getting closer.
"Shhhh!" Levy said. "The King is coming! Don't do anything stupid!"

(Natsu's POV)

"Right this way, King Igneel." Said Loke, the prison guardian. I followed behind like my father told me to, peering into the prison cells.

"Okay, in this cell is Juvia Lockser." Loke began. "She was imprisoned for sneaking into the castle and trying to steal some items that belonged to the page boy Gray."

"Juvia only wanted one of Gray-sama's shirts!" Yelled the bluenette.
"SILENCE!" Yelled my dad. His voice echoed throughout the whole dungeon.

"Next up is Levy McGarden. She was imprisoned for brutally attacking and murdering a man." Capricorn stated, his voice not wavering once. Geez, I better stay away from her.

"Then we have Lucy Heart. She was imprisoned for stealing off many merchants and not being able to repay them." Capricorn added. I looked in the cell, and I saw this Lucy Heart.

Hold on.

This is that blonde girl I saw in history class!

She looked even prettier up close, but it also looks like she has an attitude problem due to the way she's staring at me. The evil glint in her eyes nearly scared me.

"Um... Capricorn?" I asked.
"Yes?" He asked.
"Is this Lucy going to be a maid?" I couldn't take my eyes off her, she's so beautiful.

"Why do you ask?" He questioned. I took my eyes of Lucy and saw both my dad and Capricorn raising an eyebrow at me.
"Just curious." I shrugged.

"Well, as a matter of fact she is. She got here last night and is going to the dress up room later on today." He explained. YES!

I looked back at Lucy who just stared at me with curious eyes. Just before we left, when my dad or Loke weren't looking, I winked at her and then walked off. I managed to get a quick glance at her flustered and angry face just before I left, which made me smirk.

Actually, she looks kind of familiar. Ehh, oh well. It's not her. Anyway, she's so cute...
