Chapter 17

Everything that I've just been told, I- I don't want to believe it. This man, he raised me to always be kind and caring, so I don't know why he would abduct me.

But a part of me believes it.

I watched helplessly, as the man who raised me was beaten to death before my eyes. The two boys came back in from before and restrained him, but it was too late.

He was dead.

(Lucy's POV)

I was lying on the bed in Natsu's room. After what had happened, Natsu was taken somewhere to calm down, and I was escorted to his bedroom. I sat there silently, tears streaming down my face.

I can't believe it. I'm a princess.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"Come in." I yelled, wiping my tears away quickly. The door slowly opened to reveal a man clad in black. His skin was pale and his hair a deep raven.

"Ahh, Lucy Heartfilia." He sighed. "I thought I'd find you here."
"W-who are you?" I asked.
"Me?" He smiled. "You don't remember me?"
"No, sorry." I looked down apologetically.

"Maybe you'll remember my name." He smirked, walking over. He stopped about a foot away from me.
"I," He began. "Am Zeref Dragneel, Natsu's older brother, and the true heir to the throne."

Zeref. Where have I heard that name before? I paused a while in thought, but as soon as I realised who it was, I gasped and looked up at him, but he had a smirk across his face.

~FlashBack~

"Don't go out too far Lucy." my 'dad' yelled.
"Awh! Why!?" I sulked.
"Because there are evil men out there who will take you away." He said, pointing a finger at me.
"Like who?" I pursued.

"Well, there's one man who is so evil, they had to banish him from Crocus." My father began. "He was the eldest prince, and the heir, but he started practicing magic..."

"MAGIC!?" I yelled, extremely interested in the story.
"Yes, but it was dark magic, and very evil. He was banished from the city and his younger brother is the new heir now." He explained.

"What's the evil man's name?" I asked.
"His name is..

Zeref Dragneel."

~FlashBackEnd~

"So," Zeref smirked. "You finally realised who I am."
"W-why are y-you here?" I stuttered. I was shaking due to the fact that I was terrified.
"To take you, of course." He smiled.
"Eh?"

"The daughter of Magnolia was supposed to marry the heir to the throne of Fiore, which is me." He said.
"B-but y-you were b-b-banished!" I protested. "Natsu's the heir!"

"You're sticking up for the guy who beat your dad to death?" He mocked. "The fact that you were kidnapped may have been true, but that man raised you and cared for you. He loved you as a father Lucy, and you're gonna let Natsu get away with killing him!?"
"Well, I-" I was interrupted

"Not only that, but Natsu has committed murder. He is a guilty criminal." Zeref spat.
"But y-you..."
"What? I learnt a little magic? That's nothing compared to what he's done. I haven't killed anyone."

I didn't answer. He was right.

"Just come with me Lucy." He said, holding out his hand. "And with my magic, we can bring your father back to life."
"Y-You can d-do that!?" I exclaimed.
"Magic's a very powerful thing Lucy, it can work wonders." Zeref smiled.

(Natsu's POV)

"Have you calmed down now?" My father asked.
"Yes." I sighed.
"Go back to your room then." He ordered. "You should get some sleep; it's been a long day."
"Yes." I said, walking away.

I've upset Luce, I know it. I didn't mean to go ape-shit on the guy, it just came out, ya know. I walked down the corridor to my room.

Hold on. The door's open.

I ran over and looked inside, to see my brother, Zeref, facing Luce. His hand was held out towards her, and she was taking it.
"Luce! Wait!" I cried running over.

But it was too late.

She had disappeared, along with Zeref, leaving me alone. She said something before she left; I saw her lips move, but I didn't hear.

She left me. Again.
