Chapter 5-Dinner with New Friends

"Hello campers and new demigods," spoke a winged zebrataur, "for those who don't know I am Chiren, not Chiron, Chiren. I am the lead counselor here at Camp Achilles and I am excited for our new friends."

Eaton whispered, "Now we go up and put some of our food into the fire for our parents."

I understood, we have to thank the gods for all we have and sacrifice some of what we have to them.

I walked up to the fire and put some food in, out came an odor that would smell foul, yet I kind of liked it.

I went back and started to eat my food. It looked odd but tasted okay. There were dolmades, but the rice was blue. The moussaka tasted wonderful, yet the cheese looked green and moldy. For dessert there was honey and baklava, but the honey was an odd shade of purple.

While eating Eaton dropped THE question, "How come I have never met/seen you guys before?"

"Well," I started, "Than and I are from Greece which is in Europe which is on Earth which is in the Milky Way Galaxy..."

"Oh..."

After that exchange the rest of dinner was engulfed in an awkward silence at the table for Hades' children. Than and I were about to go back to our cabin when Eaton yelled out to us.

"Wait!" he called, "There are some people you should meet."

Than and I started to follow Eaton. He lead us to the table for Zeus' children where Ambrosine was.

"Hey, Nico..." Eaton said awkwardly, "These are my half sisters Than and Alessandra, they are from Earth like you..."

"Yeah, I know." Nico snapped.

Ambrosine turned around and whispered, "I think he is missing Earth and having more people from Earth is just a reminder to him about what he is missing."

I thanked Ambrosine for her insight and continued following Eaton to the next table.

"Hey Casey!"

Eaton seemed more familiar and comfortable with this "Casey" dude.

"Hi Eaton, are these your half sisters?"

"Yup. Than and Alessandra."

"Hi"

"Hi"

Eaton continued leading us through the winding tables.

"Casey is a child of Ares," he explained, "and he will be your sword fighting teacher."

The next table we went to had just one person, a boy who was playing with a pitcher of water.

"Hi, Hai." Eaton said.

"Your name is Hai?" I asked.

"Yes it is," Hai replied, "and your name is Alessandra."

"Are you a son of Poseidon?" Than questioned.

"Yes, yes I am."

We continued walking when I noticed someone lurking in the bushes.

"Hey, who's that?" I said slowly not sure if Eaton or Than saw him.

"Oh, him? That's Radcliff, son of Demeter. He is making sure that the crops are okay and whatever else he does."

The three of us headed back to our cabin. I was tired from traveling through space, crashing on an unknown planet, being taken to the greek gods, and learning I'm a demigod.

As soon as I walk into the cabin I'm going to fall straight into bed, I decided. But like always, my plans were changed.
