Chapter Two

After school the next day, Lindsay and I went to her house.
     "Hey Momma Kerchner!" I yelled at Lindsay's mom.
     "Hey, Gabs!  How are you!?" She responded. I said I was well and grabbed a bag of chips. I was constantly over at the Kerchner household so I basically took food whenever I pleased.
      Lindsay and I went upstairs. I set my bag down on the floor and grabbed a change of clothes. I changed into a long sleeve shirt and a pair of shorts and sat on her bed.
     Now, Lindsay has an amazing singing voice. I've tried to sign her up for The Voice countless times but she just laughs and tells me to shut off the camera. When I go to her house, we always have a mini YouTube session. We'd record a couple videos and then get down to business with whatever needed getting down to business (another Disney reference, "Let's get down to business to defeat the Huns!").
     We had a few laughs and recorded a few videos, but then we pulled out our phones. I showed her the messages between Jake and I.
"Gabby, this is so cute!!" She said. I blushed a little and grabbed my phone back. "I know it's nothing," I said.
Not long after I had spoken, my phone rang out. I checked the screen. IT WAS FROM JAKE!!
"LINDS LOOK AT THIS!" I exclaimed shoving the phone in her face.
"All it says is hey," she said, questioning my excitement. I stuck my tongue out at her and grabbed the phone back.
Okay... How should I respond? I thought. I slowly typed the words, "Hey, what's up?" At first I thought it was risky. But then I thought, What the heck? I've got nothing to lose. And hit send.
A few seconds later, I got a respond. I opened it up. "Not much," it said, "You going to the game tonight?" OH. MY. GOSH. IMMA DIE.
"LINDSSSSS!!" I said, almost screaming as I trusted the phone in her face. She read the text.
"Say yes! I'll make my dad take us," she said. There was a football game tonight and it was supposed to be a not too exciting one. But we decided to go anyway.
I responded with, "Yah. You?" I hit send and a few seconds later, he said, "Yeah! I guess I'll see you there!"
At this point, Lindsay and I were grinning oddly at each other. We responded with, "Yeah! See ya!"
Lindsay then said, "You know what this means."
I looked at her and said, "What?"
"You are gonna get a makeover," she replied with a gleam in her eye. Then, I knew I was going to be covered in glitter and mascara in a few hours. But it would all be worth it.
