Abigail Pov

I woke up with a start. My heart was beating hard against my rib cage, sweat covered my forehead and back. I took deep breathes to slowly calm myself down. It wasn't long until I was breathing normally again. I knew I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep again so I decided to take a shower.

After taking a shower, I changed into my grey sweater with words printed on it that says 'I have issues', black skinny jeans and my turquoise vans.

I then checked the time and it was six thirty in the morning. I still one more hour so I decided to make breakfast.

I went downstairs as quietly as I could since everyone was still asleep. I was halfway down the stairs when I heard the creaking sound of the steps. I stop to hear if anyone was awake then realized it was only me. I quickly went down the rest of the steps and into the kitchen.

For breakfast, I decided to eat pancakes and drink a glass of milk. I took out the pancake mix from the top shelf and went to take the frying pan from the rack above the counter and a bowl to mix the pancake mix.

After mixing the pancake mix together, I poured it into the frying. While waiting, I went to the fridge and got out a carton of milk and poured it in a glass.

When the pancakes were done, I placed them on a plate and pour some syrup on it. Since I wasn't that starving, I only ate two pancakes. After eating, I then proceed to wash the dishes.

Once I was done, I checked the time and it read quarter past seven. Fifteen more minutes until school starts, great! Since I'm in an orphanage, I don't really own any car and I don't have any friends that could give me a ride and have no choice but to walk there.

I don't really mind walking to school since this had been a daily basis for me. I had been attending Redwood High since sophomore and I still hadn't made any friends. But I don't really mind. I like being the lonely girl who is always being bullied and insulted.

The reasons behind the bullying and insulting were because when I was a sophomore, I met this girl. I think she had long, wavy, golden hair that was dyed. She also had electric blue eyes with a little bit of brown specks in them.

I was standing by my locker, putting all my books away when I saw a girl walking towards me. Something in the back of my mind told me to run away from her and if I didn't, I'll regret whatever that is going to happen later.

Once she reached me, the first thing she did was introduced herself. "Hey! You're Abigail Right?" she asked and I nod my head 'yes' "My name's Shannon and I was in your Science class but doesn't matter. Since you're new here, why don't you hang with me and my friends at the mall later?"

I was about to reply with my voice when I remembered that I was supposed to pretend to be mute. I turn around and got my notebook out from my locker and wrote down 'Sorry, but I'm kind of busy helping a friend with something later'. After writing it down, I showed Shannon my notebook for her to read.

She gave me a confused look before reading my reply. Once she was done, she looked back up at me and her face shows something like a mischievous look before it was replaced by pity.

"Are you mute?" Shannon asked with a fake pity voice. I nodded hesitantly in reply. After my reply, her face changed from pity to mischievous once again. She then quickly bid her goodbye saying that she had to go to the mall before traffic.

I really regret talking to her because something in the back of my mind is telling me that tomorrow isn't going to be a good day for me.

Yep, my subconscious was right. I had just arrived at the school gate when all chattering from all students stop. They were all looking at me. Some were pointing and some were whispering while giggling or laughing.

'Did Shannon tell them that I was mute?' I thought while looking at everyone who was in the parking lot. 'Only way to find out why everyone was laughing and pointing fingers at me is to find and talk to Shannon' and with that said, I went into the school heading to my lockers first.

Once I reached my locker, I punch in the combination and was about to open the locker door when someone slammed it shut. When the locker was slam shut, it caused a loud 'bang' making everyone in the hall quiet done.

All eyes were on me and the person behind me. I turned around and was hoping it would be Shannon but instead it was the jocks also known as the bullies.

"Hey! You're Abigail am I right? I think you know who we are so no introduction needed. My buddies and I here have a request for you." He said, talking loudly on purpose.

He took out his phone from his pocket behind his blue jeans and typed something on it. When he was done he showed me the text and asked "Can you read this for us?" while him and his buddies smirked evilly.

'What are they up to?' I thought while reading the text. Tears pricked at the corner of my eyes reading the text Josh had typed. It said 'Go and kill yourself Abigail. No one wants a mute freak in this school. This school is only for normal people who can speak, hear, listen and act normal. If you want to know who told us you were mute then here's a hint. She has long, wavy golden hair and cute blue eyes'.

The only person I saw with long, wavy golden hair is Shannon. Shannon! That b*tch! She told everyone! How could she?! Urgh! I knew she was up to no good! My subconscious was right. But, how did it know something was about to happen?

Josh and his friends' laughter is what brought me back to reality. "Look guys, she's crying". Josh said, laughing even harder causing him to bend over, holding his stomach.

My hand reached up to my face and felt tears, running down my cheeks. I didn't even realize my tears had streamed down my face. I push the boys aside and ran to the ladies restroom and lock the door. I went to one corner and cried my heart out.

I stop crying when the bell to first period rang. I didn't feel like going to class so I decided to skipped school and head back to the orphanage.

~~~~Pʀᴇsᴇɴᴛ~~~~
That was two years ago. The bullying, teasing, insulting hasn't stop either. That Shannon girl was nowhere to be found. Like seriously. The next day after everyone knew I was mute, I went to my Science teacher, Miss Hemmings and asked if she'd seen Shannon.
I wouldn't dare to ask any student because once they see me, the teasing and insulting begins. The answer that Miss Hemmings gave me made me confused. She said that Shannon had moved out of the school.
Until now, she hasn't even come back. But if she did come back, she's gonna have a piece of my mind for telling everyone. I thought I was going to live a normal life where people knew I was mute and treat me like a normal person.
But no! They just had to bully me for being mute. Teenagers! They never change.
While walking, I accidentally banged my head on a pole in front of me. I looked up and realized that I had already arrived to school.
I didn't know I was talking about my past for twenty minutes while walking to school. I looked at my watch that was on my wrist. My eyes widen seeing the time. I'm gonna be late!
