Chapter 3: Rachel Levin

After dropping my sister, Kate, off to the third grade classroom, I walked over to the high school building. I walked into the office to get my schedule and...."RACHEL!!!" I hear come from behind me. I quickly turn around to see my best friend, Bethany and her step-sister, Meg. "BETHANY!!" I scream, while running to give her a hug. My family was on a trip around Europe and her dad had just got married, so they were still adjusting. We hadn't seen each other since the beginning of the summer. "How was your summer?" we ask at the same time and then start to laugh. "Rach, this is Meg! She my step-sister. She is really nice!" Beth says to me. "Nice to meet ya, Meg!" I say to her. We all stand in line together while telling each other about our summers. By the time we got to the front of the line, we were almost all caught about everything that had happened to each other. We grab our schedules from the desk lady and then sit down of the bench outside the office. We check each others schedules to see if we have classes together. I have 4 classes with Bethany, but only 3 with Meg. We get up and head to our lockers. We love our locker set- up this year. Starting at the left side here is the order: Eva, Me, Bethany, Meg, Mia, Alisha. I don't know Eva, but I have met Alisha a few times because she is Meg's best friend and she is sometimes at there house when I go hang out with Beth. I know Mia too because Meg also is really good friends with her and Mia is Alisha's sister. We get to our lockers and start to put our books away. RING! RING! The bell rings just as I put my last book away. I wait for Meg, Alisha, Mia and Bethany to finish and then we all walk together to the Beginning Of The Year Assembly. When we get there, we all sit in a row together. Once we sit down, a brown-haired girl sits next to me on the end. I ignore her and continue to talk to my friends. After the assembly, we head to first block. In my first class, I'm with Alisha, Bethany, & Megan. We all sit at a table together. After that class, it goes on like any other school day. Class after Class... Finally.... It's lunch! I put away my books and grab my lunch from my locker. I wait for Alisha and because they are the only ones with a home lunch. I walk into the cafeteria with her and I can't believe what I see....
