She was sitting at her desk, typing up a report for her current case, but today she was distracted. The victims forced her to notice how distant her and her lover had become recently and she was, obviously, worried about the matter. She feared that she was using her mask too much. She knew this job would be difficult going into it and initially she figured she could wear a mask at work, fool herself that everything was okay, and then it wouldn't bother her so much when she went home so she wouldn't have to bring problems home to her lover. It seems that she may have been wrong though; she had found it increasingly difficult to remove her mask at home and had all but forgotten it was a mask in the first place by now. She felt bad, she knew her partner deserved better than that. She needed her to be there and to love her, but the young detective let herself get too caught up in work and she barely ever saw her lover anymore. She knew it was wrong and she was coming to the conclusion that she would have to learn to open up and apologize. It was either that or lose the one she loves.
It was late when she got home that night and she knew her love was probably sleeping, so she entered quietly, locked the door behind her, and removed her shoes and jacket silently before creeping up the stairs. She had unbuttoned her shirt by the time she reached the top of the stairs and she set to removing her belt. She threw her belt into the closet and took off her pants, stepping out of them and leaving them where they were. She went to the bed silently and let her shirt drop to the floor before crawling in bed, with only her boxers and bra on. She curled around her lover protectively and the smaller woman snuggled closer to her in response, but never woke up.
The detective had never bothered to set her alarm for the next morning and was awoken by the love of her life trying to hurry her out of bed.
"Shit! Connie why didn't you set your alarm when you came in!? You're going to be late!" She said.
The detective smiled tiredly and pulled Raven closer, snuggling into her shoulder and saying "don't worry babe, I'm not going to work today."
"You have the day off?" The smaller woman asked, puzzled.
"Nope." Connie replied, a smile still on her face.
"Then why aren't you going to work?"
The detective threw out a few obviously fake coughs. "Because I'm sick."
"Really Conn?"
Connie sighed and moved to lay atop her lover and looked in her eyes. "I'm not going today because I've decided to turn over a new leaf."
"Which involves what, blowing off your job?"
"No. It involves loving you more, giving you what you need, and being one hundred percent honest with you." She said calmly.
There was a moment of silence before Raven spoke, "...why?" She questioned softly.
"Because I realize how distant I've been lately....and I don't want to lose you because of it." Connie said quietly.
"..Conn..." Raven said before pulling her lover in for a kiss. "I will never leave you." She said when they broke apart. They looked into each others eyes, making sure no lies were being told.
"I love you, Rave."
"I love you too, Connwaer."
A/N: Yes, her name is Connwaer. Why? Cause I can! :P You will most likely see my dear Connie and Raven in other things that I write in here, I like to use these two characters of mine a lot, especially Connwaer. She's awesome. Oh, and Raven will be in other stories of mine like I said, but I tend to change her name. So it's like..the same character, just with a different name...and sometimes a slightly different appearance...It's weird, I know, but I'm a writer and I do weird things.
Make sure you leave a comment if you need clarification or want to see anything in any of my stories happen, I'll do my best to do that for you. I can also write out a certain pairing if you wish, if I don't know the characters, I shall look them up and try my best. Or, you can always ask to see anything with my characters, that's cool too.
Thank you, my lovely readers. Bai :)
