Lexus P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of my annoying alarm clock. It scared me so much that I hit it and it fell off of the table beside my bed. I think I just broke my wrist. The pain that I feel in my wrist right now is equivalent to stepping on 100 legos.

What the hell!

The smell of burnt pancakes fills my nose.

Oh my god, this can't be happening right now!

Valerie, my roommate aka best friend is trying to cook...again. Last time she cooked she almost burned the whole place down. I don't know why she constantly tries to cook when she can't even heat up popcorn without burning it.

Sighing, I get out of bed, run down the stairs of our flat, almost tripping and missing a step with my wild, long, messy hair. It would probably scare me if I looked in the mirror. But I'm not worried about that right now.

I went into the kitchen to be met with Val with an innocent and scared look on her face.

"Val, what did I tell you about cooking without me in the kitchen? Don't you remember what happened the last time you cooked?"

"Whoa girl! What is up with your hair?!" Valerie said, trying to ignore the subject.

"You know how my hair is when I wake up in the morning. Now answer my question!" I said.

"I thought it would turn out well this time, and I wanted to make you breakfast since it's your birthday."

Oh crap. I totally forgot about my birthday.

What kind of idiot forgets her own birthday? Me, that's who.

I mentally face palmed. Thank God for the weekends because I don't have work today! I'm turning 19!

"Oh my god, I actually forgot today was my birthday!" She gave me a weird look.

"Girl, you are crazy!" she said.

"I'm crazy? Well at least I don't burn something whenever I cook," I said.

"I'm sorry about that, I actually thought that this time it would turn out...edible."

"No worries, just promise me to never cook without me being here." She nodded and cleaned up the messed she made.

After that, I made us a whole breakfast buffet big enough for the two of us, and that's a lot, considering that we both eat like boys.

The delicious, mini breakfast buffet consisted of juicy, crispy bacon, sunny side up eggs, cinnamon apple oatmeal, blueberry and strawberry pancakes with syrup, banana waffles, and more fruits with the option of water, orange juice or tea.

When we were full, we could hardly make it up the stairs. We didn't want to waste any food so we ate it all.

You know that feeling sometimes when you're really full after eating, you feel lazy, and you just don't want to move?

That's what's happening to us right now, we made a bad choice to eat all of that food.

"I'm never eating that much food again!" Val said.

"Don't lie to yourself, you know you're gonna eat probably more than that later on." I said once we finally made it up the stairs.

"Please, I don't even want to think about food right now, I'm so full, I feel like I'll explode trying to put on my clothes."

"Speaking of clothes, what are we gonna do today for my birthday?" I asked as we lay on the queen bed of my room, staring at the fan attached to the white plain ceiling. Valerie was still too full and lazy to go to her room.

"I've got a surprise for you Lex, you're gonna love them!"

"Wait, hold up wait a minute! Did you just say "them" ?"

What did this crazy girl do now? Did she kidnap someone?

"Yup! But you won't see them until later, but for now, we are going shopping!" Val said.

I wonder who "they" are. The curiosity is already killing me. I need to know! As I'm thinking about who "they" could be, Valerie is already talking about our plans. I can't wait for the surprise!

I hope they are people and not animals, I'm not good with animals. We took showers and got ready for the long day ahead of us. It's only 10:30 am and we are leaving at 12 pm. I love going to the mall, it's so fun to go with Valerie because she doesn't rush or yell at me. I'm such a picky person with things.
