•Arabella POV•

We took an Uber car to the venue. We thanked the driver and as we got out of the car, I looked around at the bustling mass of people in front of the door. To my surprise, the venue was a whole melting pot of different people there to watch this band play.

As expected, there were the generic fan girls with way too much make up to try to impress the guys, but there were also the goths, gays, party animals, and people like me, being dragged here by their friends.

Speaking of which, Violent took my arm and started pulling me towards the front doors. I seriously think she created bruises on my arm.

"Come on," she whined. "We have to get a good spot near the stage and meet some hot guys before they're all taken."

"No, no thanks. No man for me. Just you."

"But you promised! What kind of friend are you if you just break that promise you made. You should be ashamed of yourself," she playfully yelled at me.

"How about I just go find two hot guys. One for me and one to set you up with. Yes! That's a great idea, Violet. I'm such a genius! Now stay where you are and don't look weird."

She strolled of in search of a guy desperate enough to talk to me, leaving me behind to still wonder how I could be friends with someone who encourages themself in the third person.

While I stood there alone, no doubt looking really weird to all the partygoers passing by who were giving me strange looks, I pondered what would happen if I actually gave a guy a chance with me.

It's not that I never got any men who were interested, because I certainly did get a fair share of those. It's just that the last relationship I was in was something of a fairytale- almost too good to be real. I had everything I wanted in the guy, and then just all of a sudden, my picture perfect relationship fell apart, shattering my heart in the process. After I felt what real heartbreak was, I didn't want to trust my heart in the arms of another man ever again. My soul had died and I wondered if Violet was right. Maybe it is time to move on and try to let another man rekindle the fire that was once blazing.

I saw Violet walking towards me, breaking my train of thought. With her, of course, were two guys. As they approached, I could see the prominent features on both men.

The first guy was very stout and muscular, his shirt so tight on him that you could see his defined pecks. He had a nice chiseled face, bright green eyes, and messy blonde hair. While many girls would say he's a Greek God brought to life, I would say he's not my type. He was more Violet's choice of a man.

The other guy Violet brought over was more my type. He was tall and lean, unlike his counterpart. He had dark brown curly hair and dark brown eyes that glinted with excitement. He was more compatible with my style, and while I was eyeing him, Violet began introducing them to me.

"This here is Brody," she told me, pointing to the Greek god. I personally like the name Greek god better, which is what I'll refer to him instead. "And this here," she said with a wink "is Cory." As she pointed to the brown haired guy, he took my hand and raised it to his lips to kiss.

"Pleasure to be acquainted with you Arabella," he said, staring into my eyes as he kissed my hand.

"Oh my. So formal. Um, the pleasure is mine? And please just call me Bella." I replied in my usual way, which is messing up any chance of being taken seriously. It's been way too long since I've had a conversation with a guy other than my Starbucks barista when giving my order.
