"She will live, but that's all I can say. Her memories....she may not have them when she wakes. I was fully able to heal her head wound, but the trama to her brain could've messed with a few things."

"But she will still be able to do things right? It's just her memories your worried about?"

"That's correct Altair."

~

"She still hasn't woken up."

"It will take time Connor. She suffered through a lot, the damage she received to her head should've killed her."

~

"How did she even survive that? No one could have survived being shot in the head, yet she did. What is she?"

I groaned in pain and slowly sat up from something soft and warm. The fluttering feeling of something fabric pooling around my waist caused me to open my eyes. "What?" I gasped in shock and raked my gaze around a small wooden cabin. Tiny candles providing a warm glow of light that lit up the consuming darkness. "Where am I?" No response was given to my question.

The sound of two male voices behind the cabin's wooden door caused me to shake slightly. Not knowing where I was and who was talking scared me to no end. As the voices got louder I relaxed for they seemed vaguely familiar. "Who's there?" I called out calmly, even though I still shook with fear. The voiced stopped talking to each other, the silence stretching out uncomfortably until the door was slammed open and two white clad males rushed into the room.

Two steps into the doorway was all they took before whipping around and giving me their backs. I blinked in confusion and tilted my head to the left as I watched them carefully. "Is something the matter?"

Both men spluttered and coughed at my questions. "You're fucking naked!" One of them roared. "The doctor had to remove your bandages and went to go get clean ones along with your clothes. Pull the damn sheet up!"

I blinked before looking down to confirm what was said, and sure enough I was as naked as the day I was born. A dark blush rose up on my face, rivaling that if a tomato, and I squeaked in surprise and horror. My pale hands grasping fistfuls of the dark brown sheet and pulling it up to provide some cover. "That was embarrassing." I groaned. "I'm decent-ish now." The two white clad men turned around and sighed in relief.

My eyes widened as I stated at them, my head pounding in pain as I began to remember....remember....remember what exactly? I whined and curled into a ball. Everything hurt.

"Altair, Connor, I'm back with the bandages and her clothes." A strange lady called as she walked into the cabin, freezing in her track as she spotted my shaking form. "She's awake!" She cried and rushed towards me, dropping the pile of things in her arms on the ground. Warm hands pressed on my forehead, followed by the back of my head. "This is good. The bullet wound is completely healed and she doesn't have any pain when I touch the healed spot."

But my head did hurt. It felt like a mammoth was stomping on it repeatedly. "It hurst." I cried in pain. "The pounding in my head it hurts. It feels like something is trying to claw its way out." And true to my words the feeling of something prowling around and clawing at my very being intensified.

"Here, I'll see what I can do." Murmured the strange lady, her hands beginning to glow a soft golden color as she pressed her hands on my head harder. Wisps of golden light wrapped around my pounding skull and eased the pain away with a soft, soothing chime.

I blinked at her in awe while my mouth hung open. "How did you do that?" The lady just smiled and continued doing whatever she was doing, completely ignoring my question. "Or you know, don't tel-" I stopped abruptly and cried out.

Images flashed before my eyes, running by so fast I almost wasn't able to comprehend them. Memories previously forgotten returned with such a vengeance it left me reeling. My mind completely shutting out the recent events of my awakening.

"Where is he." I finally managed to grow out darkly, baring my teeth to the woman. "Where is Altair. If he's dead I'll kill you for tending to me first." I snapped my jaws loudly, silver eyes glowing red in anger.

"I'm right here Forest." Altair called from behind the woman, standing directly next to Connor. An awkward tension filled the room while I stared and stared. No trace of any wound on the both of them. I sighed and glanced at the woman once more.

"Who are you? Why are you touching me? What happened?" Came my questioned one after the other. Not giving her time to answer I began to speak once again. "Last thing I remember was trying to heal Altair and then a sharp pain in my head knocked me out. Wait where are my clothes?" I stared down at the bed sheet, that kept me covered up, with a raised eyebrow. "When did this happen?"

The woman chuckled in amusement. "My name is Lillian, and I am a healer. I had to touch you in order to cast the healing spell that helped saved your life and eased your pain. As for what happened, I do not know. I was approached by your friend Connor about two weeks ago. He told me of your wounds and I came to help. I'm afraid all I know is that you were gravely wounded and should've died from the bullet that went through your skull."

I snorted. "Please, as if a Grim such as I would fall so easily." The woman, Lillian, stiffened up at my words and pressed her lips into a thin line. "Interesting, you are not afraid of that revelation. Most humans would be." I mused while getting up out of bed and snatching my clothes off of the wooden ground. The sheet still firmly clasped around me. "Get out." Was the only order I gave Connor and Altair before I started changing.

They shuffled out quickly and I got to work, wincing every now and then as I spied and inspected the healing wounds all over my lithe form. "How did this happen? They weren't there before I was knocked out."

Lillian shifted around the room to stay occupied. "You weren't knocked out, you were shot in the head at point blank range." I stiffened up but said nothing in response. "As for the wounds all over your body, I have no clue. You were covered in large gashes when I got to you."

"That's comforting to know." I muttered sarcastically.

"Because of your Grim heritage, you survived a killing blow. You are one lucky girl." Lillian stated over her shoulder before walking out to join Altair and Connor.

Once again I sighed then finished dressing, frowned, then stripped and began wrapping the clean, discarded bandages around the most wounded area. My stomach. The course white fabric felt itchy and foreign against my skin but I dealt with it and slipped the black fur clothing on once again. My hidden blades through the fur still in place, much to my pleasure. Time to face the music. I thought then walked out of the small wooden cabin.
