Feeling like Fire

Sometimes it just comes out of nowhere, like the air itself has changed into something uncontrollable and wild. Like everything around just melts away, and you're left with nothing but the air moving in and out of your lungs, struggling to exist in the moment. The only thing that is truely real, standing solidly in an air of nothingness, is him.

The air gets thick and hot, almost tangible with sparks. She touches your hair, your face, your shoulder. Everywhere you feel her, the flames lick at you, until your whole body is heated from the inside out. You want to look away, to stop her eyes from burning into you, like they see through into your very soul, but you can't. You're stuck. Captured by eyes so beautiful, the angels would be jealous.

Everything about her has you thrilled. The spark in her eyes, the way her hair falls, the curve in her fingers when she pushes the hair away from your face. Everything about her is perfect, and all you want is to feel her skin against yours. All you want is for her to finally kiss you. It feels as if you've been waiting in the flames for hours.

Finally, her lips are on yours. Softer than you imagined, but still leading you in what you should do. you pull closer, your whole body against her. She nibbles your lip, pulling you on your toes to keep you as close as possible. You wrap your fingers in her hair, letting her take over.

And when it's over, it feels like fire, in the middle of a torrential rain storm. Completely burnt out and left to smolder silently.
