"Hello Harry!" A lilting voice rang in Harrys ear as he pored over a particularly nasty Potions essay. He knew who it was without having to look up. There was only one person with that clear, ringing voice and flowery smelling hair- Ginny Weasley. "Hullo Ginny", he said. He tried to put some emotion in his voice, but the words came out as flat and distracted as his feelings for her right now. Harry didn't know what to do about Ginny. He had liked her quite a lot in the past year. She was very pretty, and was always making him laugh. Harry had assumed his warm feelings meant he wanted to be more than friends- that's what blokes were supposed to feel about girls. But lately, his thoughts dwelled more on someone else...
"Harry! What's wrong?"she sounded hurt but he couldn't bring himself to care. What's wrong with me? Harry thought, and then with dread, I'm turning into..into Him. A cold dread filled him but he forced a grin onto his face and quickly replied "Er..it's nothing Ginny, you know, I'm just stressed about N.E.W.T.S." "Hmmm" she said suspiciously and walked away. Harry sank back into the common room chair, sweating. He rolled up the essay, knowing he couldn't work anymore anyway. As he relaxed, warming himself by the crackling fire, a sharp pain shot through Harry's forehead.

"Where is it? Where?" "I- I know not. It was stolen. Long ago." " Do not lie to Lord Voldemort, Gregorovitch. I know, I know you possess it!" "No, I swear- please, PLEASE!!" "Where IS IT?" "I- I- please.." A terrified scream and then, "AVADA KEDAVRA!!". And silence.
Harry awoke with a start, shuddering with horror at what he had witnessed. Voldemort was looking for something..and he had just murdered an innocent old man to get it. Harry didn't know what it was, but he suddenly had a strong feeling that Hogwarts wasn't the place to be. He needed information, he needed to speak with Voldemort, to reach him before it was too late. Sitting around in school wasn't helping anyone- and he felt a sickening guilt for endangering his friends, for breaking his promise to Dumbledore. Yes, he must leave, and soon. The only question was whether to bring Ron and Hermione. "No!" Harry exclaimed aloud. " I can't put anyone else in danger. It's not them He wants. Its me." And again his scar burned as he felt the weight of Voldemorts unquenchable fury. Harry wondered, as he often did, how he could love someone so cruel, so evil. And then he realized- " Its because he's the only  one who understands me. He's the only person as sick and twisted as I am."
